The Opportunity
MassMutual Strategic Distributors (MMSD) is looking for a Sales Support Specialist to join our Annuity Internal Sales Desk. The Sales Support Specialist will be introduced to the financial services industry, with specific attention to relationship management, growing sales and annuity product knowledge. You will have a strong desire to learn, practice and apply new skills through partnering with talented, experienced sales professionals. You’ll join a team that has a mission to broaden financial wellness and education to communities throughout the country.
This position is designed as a developmental, time-bound role with an expected duration of up to 18 months. The intended career path for this role is progression into an Internal Wholesaler position, with structured development, coaching, and performance expectations aligned to that goal. Advancement into an Internal Wholesaler role is not guaranteed and will depend on individual performance, demonstrated readiness, and alignment with business needs at the time of transition.
The Team
The team is agile, collaborative and inclusive as they support our diverse distribution partners and advisors. As we continue to grow this team, we have a focused lens on diversity and inclusion. We believe diversity includes the broadest possible range of cultures, backgrounds, experiences and perspectives, while inclusion means creating an environment where all people and ideas are valued. Our goal is to welcome everyone and for all of our employees to feel comfortable bringing their true self to work each and every day.
The Impact
The Internal Sales Desk at MMSD works with distributors in the third-party/independent/national broker-dealer/bank market to sell our fixed and variable annuity products through financial professionals.

You will communicate with Internal and External Wholesaler colleagues to stay apprised of market trends and industry knowledge. You are proactive in your approach to problem solving and timely in your responses to inquiries.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Develop foundational sales, relationship management, and consultative communication skills through ongoing training, coaching, and real-time application
- Support an inbound telephone queue where you will answer product and rate questions, fulfill requests for marketing collateral, application kits, and illustrations
- Route calls to appropriate departments, including forwarding leads to Internal Wholesalers
- Document all activity in the CRM system (Salesforce)
- Run product illustrations, meeting or exceeding established turnaround times on all requests, with 100% accuracy
- Complete fulfillment requests for marketing material
- Build and maintain strong product knowledge including any related economic, industry and competitor information
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 6+ months of customer service, sales, leadership, or relationship-building experience gained through employment, internships, athletics, academic programs, student organizations or volunteer activities

- FINRA SIE & Series 6 at time of application or must obtain within 6 months of hire
- State Securities License Series 63 at time of application or must obtain within 6 months of hire
- State Life & Health License at time of application or must obtain within 6 months of hire
- Must be able to accommodate a start date of June 7, 2027

- Interest in learning the financial services industry, especially annuity products
- Proven communication skills (both written and verbal)
