- At Thermo Fisher Scientific, you'll join a dedicated team providing world-class scientific expertise and support to customers. As a Field Applications Scientist , you'll serve as a trusted technical advisor helping customers optimize their use of our advanced technologies across multiple scientific domains. Working closely with sales teams and cross-functional partners, you'll help customers achieve significant discoveries while building long-term relationships that drive business success. This role offers extensive opportunities for professional growth and development within an organization committed to enabling customers to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer.
- A Day in the Life:
- You’ll deliver exceptional pre-sales and post-sales scientific support through product demonstrations, hands-on training, troubleshooting assistance, and technical consultation while developing strong relationships with customers and collaborating closely with sales and cross-functional teams.
- What to expect:
- Provide pre-sales and post-sales technical and scientific support to customers.
- Deliver product demonstrations and hands-on customer training.
- Provide technical consultation and troubleshooting assistance.
- Support customers with qPCR technologies and applications.
- Assist customers with data analysis, experimental design, and method development.
- Adapt technical support and communication to different customer profiles and requirements.
- Collaborate closely with sales teams and cross-functional partners to support customers and business objectives.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term customer relationships.
- Travel regularly to support customers, with willingness to travel 50% or more.
- Keys to Success:
- Education
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Biology, Biomedical Sciences, or a related field.
- Additional relevant certifications are a plus.
- Experience
- 2+ years of relevant hands-on laboratory experience.
- Hands-on experience with qPCR technologies and applications.
- Experience with dPCR technologies and applications is a plus.
- Experience in data analysis, experimental design, and method development.
- Experience in technical training, customer support, or troubleshooting is a plus; previous Field Applications Scientist experience is not required.
- Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of relevant industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant scientific software.
- Clear scientific and technical communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to adapt to different customer profiles and needs.
- Customer-focused mindset and strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively across teams.
- Good commercial insight and attitude.
- Effective organization, prioritization, and time management skills.
- Adaptability and willingness to learn.
- Fluent French and professional proficiency in written and spoken English.
- Valid driver's license.
- Willingness to travel 50% - 75% or more.
