About the Role

As our Senior Accountant, you'll own core pieces of the close and help build the processes, controls, and systems our accounting function will run on as we scale. You'll keep our books accurate and audit-ready under both US GAAP and federal cost accounting rules and help lay the groundwork for a SOX-ready control environment. This is a hands-on build role. You'll design processes, not just maintain them.

Responsibilities

Own month-, quarter-, and year-end close for assigned GL areas: journal entries, accruals, prepaids, reconciliations, and flux analysis

Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations; research and resolve variances

Prepare schedules and support for financial statements and related disclosures

Manage fixed asset capitalization, depreciation, and the fixed asset register for manufacturing and test equipment

Support job costing, WIP, and inventory accounting for spacecraft hardware programs

Calculate and book overhead, fringe, and G&A allocations; support indirect rate development and tracking

Support government contract accounting under FAR and CAS, including DCAA readiness, incurred cost submissions, and timekeeping compliance

Support revenue recognition on long-term contracts (ASC 606) alongside program and contracts teams

Research technical accounting questions and write clear memos documenting conclusions

Design, document, and test internal controls over financial reporting, including process narratives and key control descriptions

Prepare PBC schedules and support internal, external, and government audits

Help implement and improve ERP, close automation, and expense tools to shorten the close cycle

Take on ad-hoc analysis and special projects as the company grows

Partner with FP&A, Operations, Program Management, Supply Chain, and Legal to keep financial information accurate and useful

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance

5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including ownership of month-end close

Strong working knowledge of US GAAP

Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, complex formulas) and hands-on ERP experience

Strong attention to detail, organization, and clear written and verbal communication

A builder's mindset: comfortable with ambiguity, high ownership, and a fast-moving startup pace

Bonus Points for

CPA, or actively pursuing one

Big 4 or national public accounting audit experience, or accounting experience at a public company

SOX compliance, ICFR documentation, or public-company readiness experience

Government contract accounting: FAR, CAS, DFARS, DCAA audits, indirect rates

Aerospace, defense, or advanced manufacturing background

Experience with inventory, WIP, or job costing

Experience with [ERP, e.g., NetSuite], close automation tools (e.g., FloQast), and T&E platforms (e.g., Navan, Concur)

Your level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the considerations of job-related knowledge and skills, education, and direct experience. Salary Range

$90,000 — $140,000 USD
