AWS Billing Operations – Senior Analyst

AWS Monetization Operations is a global team within AWS Billing responsible for operationalizing complex pricing agreements and ensuring customers are billed accurately and on time. We work at the intersection of customer contracts, billing systems, finance, accounting, and operations to translate complex commercial terms into scalable billing outcomes.

We are looking for a creative, analytical, and results-driven Senior Analyst who can independently manage complex billing processes, interpret contractual requirements, identify risks and gaps, and drive issues to resolution. The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter who combines strong business judgment with analytical depth and is comfortable working across multiple teams to deliver accurate and timely customer billing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret complex pricing agreements and translate contractual terms into billing requirements and operational processes.
  • Own recurring billing activities and ensure accurate and timely execution of customer commitments and contractual terms.
  • Leverage SQL, Excel, BI, and AI-enabled tools to analyze billing and operational data, identify anomalies and root causes, and improve billing accuracy and operational efficiency.
  • Investigate billing issues, develop recommendations, and drive cross-functional resolution with Engineering, Finance, Accounting, Sales, and Customer Support.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, and improve operational processes and controls.
  • Perform billing reconciliations and investigate material variances.
  • Develop reporting and mechanisms that improve visibility into billing accuracy, operational performance, and emerging risks.
  • Serve as a subject-matter expert on complex billing scenarios and provide guidance and mentoring to other analysts.
  • Support new pricing constructs, customer launches, and evolving billing requirements as the business grows.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in operations, finance, billing, business analysis, or a related field.
  • Experience interpreting and operationalizing complex contractual or business requirements.
  • Experience analyzing large datasets using SQL and Excel.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently solve ambiguous problems and drive cross-functional work to completion.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in finance, business operations, billing, pricing, revenue operations, or related functions.
  • Experience working with complex customer agreements or non-standard pricing constructs.
  • Experience identifying root causes and designing scalable process improvements.
  • Experience using BI and AI-enabled tools to improve analysis, decision-making, or operational efficiency.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence across business and technical teams.
  • Experience working in a high-growth technology environment.

Basic qualifications

  • - 5+ years of Microsoft Excel experience
  • - Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • - Experience with sales CRM tools such as Salesforce or similar software
  • - Experience defining, refining and implementing sales processes, procedures and policies or equivalent

Preferred qualifications

  • - 5+ years of finance, business management and sales operations experience
  • - Experience working within a high-growth, technology company

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
