Job Description Summary

The Senior Data Scientist will work as part of a small team to rapidly develop Data Science solutions, which deliver clear business value to Unison (a GE Aerospace Company).

You must be able to work with internal customers to readily assimilate their requirements and translate these into working solutions. In this role you will continuously exercise your analytic expertise, data knowledge and user experience skillset.

You will work closely with Unison functional teams to support deliver impactful AI/ML projects, including supporting FLIGHT DECK initiatives such as Kaizen, VSM and Gemba's.

In this role you will be physically located within the Unison office, reporting to the UK Sr Director of Data Science.

Job Description

Role and Responsibilities

As a Senior Data Scientist, you will work on projects which typically involve large and / or complex data sets. Our projects support all Unison business functions, from asset in-service deployment, fleet monitoring and management to OEM, MRO, supply chain and financial operations.

Our job is to work alongside internal Unison customers and stakeholders to rapidly develop, test and deploy Data Science solutions which solve real-world problems and deliver significant value to the business.

We also develop custom in-house analytics tools to meet customer needs. The Senior Data Scientist role combines data science with application / domain knowledge. We make extensive use of AI and ML techniques including LLMs, Computer Vision, Neural Networks and Advanced Statistical methods.

Education Qualification

Bachelor’s degree from accredited university or college with minimum of 2 years of professional experience OR Associates degree with minimum of 5 years of professional experience OR High School Diploma with minimum of 7 years of professional experience

Note: Military experience is equivalent to professional experience

Eligibility Requirement:

Preferred Qualifications

Python analytical scripting skills

Knowledge and experience of applying ML / AI / Advanced statistics to solve real-world problems.

Experience using Version Control, ideally Github.

Experience using an analytic development platform such as AWS or Databricks

A keen interest working in Aerospace / Aviation industry.

Ability to leverage curiosity and creativity to drive business impact.

Comfortable working within a team or independently.

Ability to complete specific tasks to required timelines.

Strong communicator: capable of communicating complex technical information to a range of stakeholders – peers, experts and non-experts, customers.

Ability to solicit and respond to customer feedback.

This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. Therefore, employment will be contingent upon the ability to prove that you meet the status of a U.S. Person as one of the following: U.S. lawful permanent resident, U.S. Citizen, have been granted asylee or refugee status (i.e., a protected individual under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)).
