Meet Your Future Neighbors

As the Product Designer for Nextdoor's Monetization pillar, you'll be a key player in driving our design vision for the experiences that generate sustainable revenue for Nextdoor while strengthening the neighborhood. You'll join a small team of designers and work alongside product managers, engineers, and researchers to shape end-to-end experiences that deliver measurable business impact without compromising trust or engagement. This position reports to the Head of Design, Monetization.

The Impact You'll Make

Lead design and UX strategy for monetization experiences, balancing user needs, business goals, and technical constraints to drive measurable revenue impact

Design cohesive, end-to-end journeys that move customers from first discovery to long-term, repeat value, reducing friction at every step

Advocate for a user-first approach to monetization, ensuring revenue-driving experiences integrate seamlessly into core user journeys without disrupting engagement or eroding trust

Use qualitative and quantitative research to inform design decisions, working closely with researchers and data analysts to validate hypotheses and refine solutions

Develop and refine user flows, wireframes, and prototypes that improve engagement, conversion, and retention while maintaining a positive user experience

Drive experimentation and A/B testing with product and analytics teams to measure and optimize the impact of UX improvements on revenue and key business metrics

Contribute to and evolve our design system, ensuring consistency and efficiency in UI components across surfaces

Influence product and business decisions by communicating UX rationale to stakeholders, including executives, through storytelling and data-driven insights

Mentor and guide other designers, providing feedback, sharing best practices, and fostering a culture of continuous learning within the team

Ensure accessibility and inclusivity across monetization experiences by following best practices and advocating for diverse user perspectives

Stay ahead of industry trends in monetization, AI-driven personalization, and ethical design to inform innovation and future roadmap planning

What You'll Bring To The Team

8+ years of experience in UX design, product design, or a related field, with a strong track record of designing and shipping user-centered products

Deep expertise in interaction design, information architecture, and usability principles, with a portfolio demonstrating impactful work in complex systems

Experience designing monetization experiences, ideally within a marketplace, social platform, or other consumer or two-sided environment

Experience unifying fragmented product experiences into a cohesive end-to-end journey

Strong understanding of qualitative and quantitative research methods, with the ability to synthesize insights into actionable design decisions

Proficiency in Figma and other design tools for creating wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs

Experience working with and contributing to design systems, ensuring consistency and scalability across surfaces

Ability to lead design strategy and influence cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, marketers, and data scientists

Strong storytelling and communication skills, with the ability to articulate design rationale and advocate for user needs to senior stakeholders

Experience conducting A/B tests and working with analytics tools (e.g., Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics, Mixpanel) to measure the impact of design decisions

Passion for staying ahead of industry trends, particularly in monetization, personalization, and ethical design

Nice to Have

Experience with AI-driven personalization and recommendation systems

Background in UX research

Rewards

Compensation, benefits, perks, and recognition programs at Nextdoor come together to create our total rewards package. Compensation will vary depending on your relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.

The starting salary for this role is expected to range from $186,150-$203,000 on an annualized basis, or potentially greater in the event that your 'level' of proficiency exceeds the level expected for the role. The salary range will be determined by the candidate’s geographic location.

We expect to award a meaningful equity grant for this role. With quarterly vesting, your first vest date will take place within 3 months of your start date.
