USE YOUR POWER FOR PURPOSE

The Senior Director, Quality Management Systems is responsible for developing and executing the product strategy, roadmap, governance, and value delivery for Pfizer's global Quality Management digital product portfolio, aligned to the Digital Quality strategy and investment priorities established by the Digital Quality Solutions Lead and Pfizer Quality leadership.

The role provides product leadership for the Veeva Quality Vault ecosystem, including QualityDocs and electronic Quality Management System (eQMS) capabilities, alongside complementary quality and records management solutions such as SDS and EDES. The portfolio also includes AI-enabled quality solutions that support quality management processes, including DEVI, CLAIRE, DELTA, Agentic Batch Release, and future Quality Intelligence Centre capabilities.

Working in close partnership with Quality business stakeholders and the Quality Solutions Lead, this role translates Quality strategy and operating model priorities into scalable digital products and services that improve compliance, standardization, operational efficiency, and user experience across Pfizer's global quality network.

The incumbent is accountable for product vision, roadmap execution, value realization, and lifecycle management across the portfolio, while ensuring solutions remain aligned with business objectives, regulatory requirements, and enterprise technology standards.

WHAT YOU WILL ACHIEVE

Product Strategy & Vision

  • Develop and execute the product strategy for the Quality Management portfolio aligned to the Digital Quality strategy and priorities established by the Quality Solutions Lead.
  • Define future-state product capabilities and roadmaps for the Quality Management portfolio that support approved business strategy, compliance objectives, operational excellence and business transformation initiatives.
  • Establish clear product outcomes, value measures, and success metrics aligned to enterprise quality objectives.

Global QMS Product Leadership

  • Lead product ownership across the Veeva Quality Vault ecosystem, including:
  • QualityDocs
  • Non Conformance
  • CAPA
  • Change Control
  • Risk Management
  • Audit Management
  • Complaints
  • Additional Quality Vault capabilities such as Supplier Quality as adopted

Ensure alignment of product strategy across divisions while balancing global standardization and PGS business requirements.

Quality Operations & Records Management

  • Provide strategic leadership for enterprise quality record management capabilities, including SDS, EDES and future document and records management platforms.
  • Ensure solutions support regulatory compliance, data integrity, inspection readiness and operational efficiency.

AI-Enabled Quality Transformation

  • Define and execute product roadmaps for AI-enabled Quality Management capabilities including DEVI, CLAIRE, DELTA, Agentic Batch Release and future quality workflow automation solutions.
  • Own the product vision, roadmap and value delivery for the Quality Command Centre capability. Creating an integrated digital experience that provides visibility, monitoring, decision support and orchestration across quality operations.
  • Enable proactive quality management through predictive insights, automation, workflow orchestration and AI-driven recommendations.
  • Partner with Digital, Legal, Compliance and Quality stakeholders to ensure responsible deployment of AI within GxP-regulated environments.

Portfolio, Financial & Vendor Management

  • Manage portfolio budgets, business cases, vendor relationships and investment recommendations for the Quality Management product portfolio.
  • Establish portfolio governance mechanisms to maximize value delivery and ensure alignment with enterprise priorities.
  • Organizational Leadership.
  • Lead and develop a global team of Product Managers, Product Owners and Quality domain experts.
  • Build product management capabilities, talent pipelines and succession plans across the Quality Management portfolio.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, continuous improvement and customer-centric product delivery.
  • Influence product management standards and operating practices across the broader Digital Quality organization.

Stakeholder Engagement & Governance

  • Serve as the senior Digital & Technology partner for Quality Management business process owners and governance forums.
  • Partner with Quality business stakeholders and the Quality Solutions Lead to translate future-state operating model requirements into product roadmaps and digital capabilities.
  • Provide strategic recommendations to the Quality Solutions Lead regarding portfolio priorities, investment opportunities, risk mitigation and capability evolution.
  • Lead governance forums and executive communications related to portfolio performance, risk management and strategic direction.

Compliance, Risk & Quality

  • Ensure all products operate in accordance with GxP, data integrity, cybersecurity and internal compliance requirements.
  • Maintain inspection readiness and support regulatory audits and assessments.
  • Balance innovation with regulatory compliance through effective governance and risk management.

HERE IS WHAT YOU NEED (Minimum Requirements)

  • Applicant must have a bachelor's degree with at least 12 years of experience; OR a master's degree with at least 10+ years of experience; OR a PhD with 7+ years of experience.
  • Relevant experience in pharmaceutical quality, manufacturing, digital transformation, product management or related fields.
  • Demonstrated experience leading enterprise-scale digital product portfolios.
  • Experience working within GxP-regulated environments.
  • Proven track record leading global, cross-functional teams and influencing senior executives.
  • Strong financial, strategic planning and stakeholder management capabilities.

BONUS POINTS IF YOU HAVE (Preferred Requirements)

  • Degree preferred in Life Sciences, Engineering, Quality, Information Systems, Computer Science or related discipline.
  • Deep knowledge of Quality Management Systems and pharmaceutical quality processes.
  • Experience with Veeva Vault Quality Suite.
  • Experience leading digital transformation initiatives across manufacturing and quality organizations.
  • Knowledge of AI, advanced analytics, automation and agentic systems.
  • Experience with enterprise SaaS platforms and global product operating models.
  • Demonstrated success leading organizational and business process transformation on a global scale.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS

  • Reports into Pfizer Digital, PGS, Enabling Functions & Enterprise Platforms - Quality Solutions Lead.
  • Key business stakeholders in Pfizer Global Supply include but are not limited to VP QSEO Systems and Compliance, VP QSEO Transformation Lead. Quality Organizations within Pfizer R&D.

FINANCIAL ACCOUNTABILITY

Annual portfolio accountability of approximately $15M-$30M+ across software, services and strategic investment initiatives.

  • SUPERVISION
  • Direct leadership of Product Managers, Senior Managers and Directors.

Matrix leadership of global delivery, engineering, validation, data and vendor teams.

Accountability for large external partner and managed service relationships.

Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.

Occasional travel up to 20%

Ability to meet with colleagues virtually across different regions and time zones, including occasional out-of-hours working to support deployment go-lives and hypercare.
