Are you energized by leading complex technical programs that transform how organizations operate in the cloud? As a Senior Engagement Manager within Amazon Web Services (AWS) Professional Services, you will guide customers through their most ambitious cloud initiatives, turning strategic vision into measurable business outcomes. You will own the full lifecycle of large-scale engagements, orchestrating teams of technical consultants, customer stakeholders, and partners to deliver results that matter.

This role puts you at the intersection of technology and business strategy. You will navigate ambiguity, align competing priorities, and build trusted relationships with executives and technical leaders alike. If you are a collaborative, adaptable program leader who thrives on solving hard problems and helping customers realize the full value of cloud adoption, we want to hear from you.

  • Key job responsibilities
  • - Lead the end-to-end delivery of large, multi-workstream cloud engagements by creating and maintaining comprehensive project plans, defining quality standards, and aligning AWS, customer, and partner resources to achieve agreed-upon business outcomes.
  • - Build and manage strategic customer relationships across technical and executive stakeholders, proactively identifying risks, clearing blockers, and driving timely decisions to keep programs on track — including redirecting distressed engagements toward successful delivery.
  • - Facilitate release planning, workshops, and discovery sessions using multiple delivery and cloud frameworks (such as Agile, Waterfall, Well-Architected Framework, and Cloud Adoption Framework) to translate customer strategy into executable roadmaps.
  • - Lead complex business and technical discussions, harmonize conflicting perspectives, and guide customers to define and expand on their cloud adoption strategy while identifying opportunities to maximize engagement value through scope and financial negotiations.
  • - Establish reusable delivery mechanisms, best practices, and documentation standards that improve quality and efficiency across engagements, and mentor fellow engagement managers to raise the overall team capability.
  • A day in the life
  • You start your morning reviewing program dashboards and preparing for a steering committee meeting with a customer's leadership team, where you present delivery progress and align on upcoming milestones. Mid-morning, you facilitate a cross-team planning session, helping architects and developers prioritize the next sprint. After lunch, you join a technical review to validate that a proposed solution meets the customer's business objectives, then spend time coaching a newer engagement manager on stakeholder communication. Your afternoon wraps with a pipeline discussion, where you help shape an upcoming pre-sales opportunity.
  • About the team
  • AWS Professional Services partners with customers worldwide to accelerate their cloud journeys, from migration and modernization to building entirely new capabilities. Our engagement managers are the connective thread between technical delivery and business strategy, ensuring every project creates lasting value.

We are a collaborative, customer-focused team that values continuous learning and operational excellence. Whether you are helping a customer adopt generative artificial intelligence or guiding a complex enterprise transformation, you will work alongside some of the brightest minds in cloud technology and have the opportunity to shape how organizations innovate at scale.
