About Us

At GEMTEC, we offer something different. We’re an employee-owned, 400-person multidisciplinary consulting firm with offices across Atlantic Canada and Ontario. We’re large enough to compete head-to-head with publicly traded engineering giants, but still small enough to maintain the culture and flexibility of a close-knit team. Our size and hands-on management style let us move quickly, embrace new opportunities, and empower our people to shape their own careers, without getting lost in corporate bureaucracy.

Planning, execution, and management of field programs/surveys relevant to the assessment of terrestrial and/or aquatic biology including avifauna, wildlife, vegetation (including rare plants), aquatics, wetlands, species at risk, etc.

Provide oversight of field and office staff including review of health and safety plans, survey methodology, QA/QC practices, etc.

Preparation and review of proposals, work plans and budgets as well as contributing or leading the management of projects.

Collaboration with other GEMTEC staff and offices on environmental permitting and related environmental projects of various sizes.

Involved in coordinating and completing environmental and socioeconomic studies, Aboriginal, stakeholder, and public consultation programs.
