Job Description
Overview
Visa Consulting & Analytics (VCA) is Visa's global consulting organization, helping clients solve strategic business challenges through payments expertise, data-driven insights, and consulting capabilities.
The Senior Manager will lead the delivery of consulting engagements and support the development of client relationships with leading financial institutions, merchants, and ecosystem partners in Japan. This role requires strong consulting, problem-solving, project management, stakeholder management, and business development capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead strategic consulting engagements, taking ownership of project planning, problem solving, recommendation development, and high-quality delivery across payments, portfolio growth, customer acquisition, customer engagement, loyalty, digital transformation, and business growth
- Provide strategic advice to financial institutions and ecosystem partners in Japan, working closely with senior VCA leaders to support clients’ growth and business transformation objectives
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with client stakeholders, including senior management, and provide actionable recommendations to support clients’ business objectives
- Develop data-driven insights and executive-level presentations to address complex business challenges
- Lead cross-functional project teams, aligning client stakeholders and Visa teams around shared objectives to ensure successful delivery of consulting engagements with high quality and measurable client impact
- Collaborate closely with Visa account executives, product specialists, and VCA leaders to understand client needs, shape consulting solutions, and develop new consulting opportunities
- Contribute to the growth of Visa Consulting & Analytics through proposal development, consulting sales, client development, and thought leadership initiatives
- Coach and develop consultants and project team members by providing regular feedback and guidance to strengthen team capabilities and support professional development
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional Visa teams, including Product, Marketing, Data Science, Risk, Client Services, and Sales
This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in the office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in client-facing consulting, corporate strategy, business transformation, or related advisory roles, with at least 4 years of relevant experience
- Proven ability to structure complex business problems and develop actionable recommendations for clients
- Demonstrated experience leading complex client-facing engagements and managing stakeholder relationships
- Experience presenting recommendations to senior management and contributing to executive-level client discussions
- Strong strategic thinking, analytical problem-solving, and communication skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders and priorities in a dynamic environment
- Native-level Japanese and business-level English communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in strategic or management consulting, particularly in developing and delivering recommendations for complex business challenges
- Experience in financial services, payments, banking, fintech, digital commerce, or related industries
- Experience developing growth strategies, product strategies, customer engagement strategies, or loyalty strategies
- Experience leveraging data and analytics to develop business insights and recommendations
- Track record of identifying business opportunities and supporting client or business growth
- Experience coaching and developing consultants or project team members
