Join our team as a Senior Program Quality Engineer (PQE) supporting the Advanced Technology (AT) Strategic Business Unit. The PQE partners with the Program Quality Lead and interfaces with program and functional partners, across the full product life cycle, including technology and technical development, production/manufacturing, integration, test and sustainment, and ensures alignment with key industry standards and initiatives, including AS9100, AS9145 and APQP, to ensure that customer expectations and end-user objectives are satisfied.

This is a Hybrid role based in New England. Occasional travel to Raytheon locations in New England (e.g., Woburn, MA; Andover, MA; Tewksbury, MA; Marlborough, MA; Portsmouth, RI) is currently anticipated approximately 5% of the time. Occasional travel to supplier locations, mainly in the US, but occasionally globally, is currently anticipated approximately 5% of the time. In 2027-2028, travel to remote US installation, integration, and test sites is anticipated approximately 30% of the time for approximately one year.

What You Will Do :

  • Serve as a key member of the program execution team, ensuring successful program performance by ensuring conforming products and services through effective partnership and compliance to processes and procedures.
  • Review and approve design artifacts and change requests to assess technical impact and quality.
  • Review and approve subcontract statements of work to ensure alignment with program requirements.
  • Assess technical risk of non-conformances utilizing critical thinking and analytical skills.
  • Support and provide oversight for failure investigations and nonconformance reviews.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional partners and customers to ensure alignment and ensure customer requirements are met.
  • Drive compliance with the Raytheon Quality Management System while driving continuous improvement.
  • Initiate and perform root cause analysis, facilitate corrective actions, and implement closed loop process controls to improve product/process predictability and capability.
  • Implement Advanced Product Quality Planning in accordance with AS9145, as applicable.

Qualification You Must Have :

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of eight (8) years of relevant experience in Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, and/or Operations.
  • Working experience with ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 Quality Management Systems.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing quality technical expertise to ensure effective design/development results.
  • Experience with programs/contracts/efforts that have content in remote sites, particularly Site Quality experience to include material receipt and inspection, installation, integration test and selloff.
  • Active and transferable Secret or higher U.S. government-issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer :

  • Experience applying quality requirements and standards, including aerospace, commercial, defense, and/or space standards as well as internal policies, procedures and requirements.
  • Experience with contractual quality requirements, particularly on U.S. Government contracts.
  • Experience reviewing and approving technical data packages / drawings.
  • Experience driving successful performance of major subcontractors, suppliers and/or IOTs, including review of subcontractor statements of work, to ensure alignment to program / quality requirements and issuance of quality requirement flow downs.
  • Experience with defense systems throughout the product life cycle, including design, production, installation, integration, test and sustainment.
  • Experience identifying, analyzing, and documenting problems with requirements, program functionality, and/or software releases.
  • Experience serving on Configuration Control Boards (CCB), and nonconforming material review / Material Review Board (MRB) and/or failure review / Failure Review Board (FRB).
  • Experience defining and analyzing quality metrics.
  • Experience collaborating cross-functionally.
  • Experience assessing Engineering work products (Peer Reviews, Configuration Control Boards, Code Reviews, Product Readiness and Sale, etc.) to identify and eliminate in-phase defects.
  • Experience participating in test preparation and execution to ensure requirements are verified.
  • Experience in risk mitigation and opportunity management.
  • Experience utilizing data, quality science tools and facilitating cross-functional teams to drive root cause, corrective action, and systematic improvement activities.
  • RTX CORE qualified and proficient.
  • Earned Value certified and proficient.
  • American Society for Quality (ASQ) Certification and/or Program Management Certification.
  • Excellent collaboration, verbal and written communications and interpersonal skills; ability to effectively persuade and influence through positive communications with stakeholders, team members, suppliers, management.
  • Experience communicating verbally and in written communications and networking with other stakeholders.
