The Senior Risk Manager collaborates closely with key departmental stakeholders, including Human Resources, Legal, Quality, Compliance, and Patient Safety, to ensure a comprehensive and integrated understanding of the organization’s risk profile and to drive the identification, prioritization, and mitigation of targeted risk exposures. Reporting to the Risk Director, the Senior Risk Manager may be called upon to provide cross-coverage support for the Risk Director or other team members to ensure leadership continuity during absences or temporary reassignments. In addition, the Senior Risk Manager supports System Risk Management and Loss Prevention efforts by serving as a subject matter expert and actively contributing to system-wide initiatives, committees, networks, task forces, and projects, as assigned by Market or System leadership.

  • Leads analysis of claims, incident data, and post-loss outcomes across assigned facilities/service lines to identify trends, root causes, and emerging risks, and inform broader risk strategy.
  • Drives accountability and continuous improvement by monitoring and evaluating risk mitigation action plans, ensuring effective follow-up and escalation of issues.
  • Partners with operational leadership to design and implement targeted loss prevention and risk reduction strategies aligned with department and ministry priorities.
  • Contributes to development and execution of risk management strategy, translating data insights, claim trends, and regulatory changes into actionable initiatives at the facility and system level.
