Senior Scientist - Flexible Packaging

Primary Responsibilities

• •Lead scale‑up of new and existing products and translate formulations into clear manufacturing instructions.
• •Validate process parameters, equipment settings, and quality methods.
• •Investigate deviations, perform root‑cause analysis, and implement CAPAs.
• •Provide technical support to production and participate in MOC activities.
• •Drive continuous improvement using statistical and process‑control tools.
• •Manage raw material qualifications, evaluations, and substitutions.
• •Collaborate with R&D, Supply Chain, Product Management, and Technical Service.
• •Ability to travel up to 10%.

Minimum Requirements

• •Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or Polymer Science with 6 years of experience;
• or Master’s degree with 4 years of experience;
• or PhD with 2 years of experience.
• •Experience in chemical manufacturing and product scale‑up.
• •Background in adhesives, polymers, coatings, or chemical processes.

Preferred Requirements

• •Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems.
• •Knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma (DMAIC, 8D, FMEA, 5S).
• •Experience with 1K/2K polyurethane technologies (solvent‑based and solvent‑free).
• •Familiarity with analytical techniques (FTIR, DSC, viscosity, solids, etc.).
• •Bilingual: English and Spanish.

Work Environment

• •Work performed in both plant and office settings.
• •Ability to lift up to 50 lbs for sample handling.
• •Must follow all plant safety protocols and PPE requirements.
