Description
About LG Group
LG Group is a vertically integrated real estate development, construction, and property management company specializing in hospitality, luxury commercial, adaptive re-use, tenant improvements, multifamily, mixed-use, and high-rise residential projects. Through our Develop-Build team, we manage projects from concept through completion, giving team members exposure to both development and construction throughout the project lifecycle on multifamily, mixed-use, and high rise projects.
Position Overview
LG Group is seeking an experienced Senior Superintendent to lead field operations and construction execution for multifamily, mixed-use, and high-rise residential developments throughout Chicago.
Unlike a traditional general contractor environment, this role offers direct exposure to both development and construction, creating opportunities to collaborate closely with Development, Operations, and Executive Leadership teams from preconstruction through project completion. The Senior Superintendent serves as the primary field leader responsible for site safety, quality, schedule performance, workforce planning, trade partner management, and overall project execution.
This is an opportunity to play a key leadership role within a growing Develop-Build platform, oversee complex construction projects, mentor field teams, and help deliver some of Chicago's most impactful residential developments.
LG provides equal opportunity in all its employment practices to all qualified employees and applicants without regard to race, sex (including pregnancy and gender identity, and sexual orientation), color, religion, gender, national origin, age, mental or physical disability, marital status, military/veteran status, genetic information, or any other category protected by law. This policy applies to all aspects of the employment relationship, including but not limited to recruitment, hiring, job assignments, training, compensation, benefits, promotion, transfer, disciplinary action, or separation of employment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead field operations from preconstruction planning through project turnover and closeout
- Develop and maintain project schedules, recovery schedules, site logistics plans, and workforce forecasts
- Lead pull planning sessions and implement Lean Construction principles throughout project execution
- Collaborate with Development, Design, and Preconstruction teams during planning and budgeting phases to optimize constructability and project delivery
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, inspectors, consultants, and project stakeholders
- Drive project sequencing and daily field execution to achieve schedule milestones
- Identify schedule constraints, proactively mitigate risks, and implement corrective action plans when necessary
- Oversee site safety programs and ensure compliance with OSHA and company standards
- Monitor quality control processes and ensure work aligns with project plans and specifications
- Conduct field inspections, manage punch lists, and oversee closeout activities
- Coordinate material deliveries, manpower planning, and project logistics
- Track project progress and communicate schedule updates, risks, and field issues to project teams and leadership
- Partner closely with Project Managers and leadership teams to ensure successful project delivery
- Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence across project teams
- Mentor and develop Superintendents, Assistant Superintendents, Project Engineers, and field staff
