Social Media & E-Commerce Coordinator

Portwest Retail is a leading Ireland owned retail chain with 4 stores on the Wild Atlantic Way, with stores in Westport, Galway and Killarney.

We are an outdoor adventure focused retailer who work with over 50 of some of the best outdoor brands on the market.

We are currently looking to recruit for the role of Social Media & E-Commerce Coordinator, in our recently renovated Galway City store.

This is a varied role combining social media, content, e-commerce and day to day digital marketing. You will help grow our online presence, engage our community and ensure our e-commerce platforms are up to date, visually appealing and performing effectively. The ideal candidate will have a strong eye for content and brand presentation, understand social media trends and be comfortable working across both creative and administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities

Manage day to day social media activity across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and other relevant platforms.

Create and schedule engaging, on-brand content including posts, reels, stories and short form video

Monitor comments, message and community engagement

Work with the wider team to develop campaigns, promotions and seasonal content

Track social media performance and provide regular reports and insights

Manage and maintain the day to day running of the e-commerce website

Add and update products, descriptions, images, pricing and promotional information

Monitor website performance, sales and conversion metrics

Identify opportunities to improve the customer journey and online sales

Assist with photography and video content for social media and the website

Help coordinate product launches, campaigns, collaborations and promotional activity

Support email marketing and other digital marketing activity

Assist with general marketing and administrative tasks as required

Experience & Skills

Previous experience in social media, digital marketing, e-commerce or a similar role

Strong understanding of Instagram and other major social platforms

Experience creating and scheduling social media content

A small portfolio of previous social media work is essential

Excellent written & communication skills

Good organisational and time management skills

Experience working within a retail, fashion, beauty, lifestyle or consumer facing brand

Photography/video or basic video editing skills
