Purpose

The Social Science/Humanities Research Associate III will work with Dr. Swanson and a team of graduate students, and staff researchers to assist with federally funded research conducted through The Meadows Center for Preventing Educational Risk (MCPER). MCPER is a center that focuses on conducting and disseminating research to improve outcomes for students at risk for experiencing difficulty in school. Dr. Swanson’s project focus on improving literacy outcomes for students with disabilities in elementary and middle schools in Texas. The position focuses on hands-on research support. The SSHRA III will work with Dr. Swanson and other research team members in all aspects of school-based research. This includes developing and following standardized procedures for data collection, scoring and coding, assisting in product development, and supporting research participants in schools throughout the larger Central Texas region.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with product development and dissemination.
  • Collect, score, and process data with high levels of accuracy.
  • Support research participants in schools across Texas.
  • Actively contribute to team meetings
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

A Bachelor's Degree with 4 years of relevant experience or a Master’s Degree with 2 years of relevant experience.

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s Degree with 2 years experience as a lead teacher in a classroom or as an intervention researcher in schools. Formal leadership position in an organization. Lead product developer Experience in managing research

Salary Range

$50,000 - $57,000
