Summary

About the Position: The primary purpose of this position is to provide a full range of professional social work services for active duty, retired military members, reservists when eligible for medical care, and their families. Clinical and administrative duties focus on education and prevention, psychosocial assessment and diagnosis, and evidenced-based interventions and treatment. Working hours typically 0730 - 1600 This is a Direct Hire Solicitation

Duties

  • Conducts intake evaluations and psycho-diagnostic assessments.
  • Conducts comprehensive evaluations to address complex (interrelated biopsychoscocial) diagnostic and treatment issues.
  • Prepares written evaluation reports with clinical impressions and recommendations.
  • Accomplishes clinical intake interviews with patients, to include family history, biopsychosocial history, developmental history, and presenting problems together with any relevant secondary information.
  • Provides a wide range of therapeutic measures that are geared toward securing cognitive and mental adjustments by recognizing and resolving problems relating to the patient’s attitudes toward themselves, family, and associates.
  • Rotates with other providers to see acute/walk-in patients; covers on-call duties after clinic hours; and provides consultation for emergent and urgent mental health and family maltreatment cases.

Qualifications

Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Basic Requirement for Social Worker Degree: Master's degree (or higher degree) in social work from a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes OR Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Social Work. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages AND License: Possess a current, unrestricted license to practice clinical social work independently in any one of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, or the U.S Virgin Islands. Must have practiced as an independent licensed clinical social worker within past two years.
