We make sure they start fast, respond instantly, and stay smooth as hundreds of teams add new features.

- Key job responsibilities
- - Design, implement, and support robust and stable solutions across Amazon's mobile shopping apps
- - Profile and optimize app startup, latency, and runtime performance across critical customer code paths
- - Build the systems and tooling that automatically catch performance regressions before they reach millions of mobile Shoppers
- - Develop systems that support AI-assisted mobile development at scale, exploring approaches like automated anomaly detection and root-cause diagnosis
- - Partner with dozens of teams across Amazon to improve performance-critical code paths and remove bottlenecks
- - Help raise the bar for mobile development as we change the way we develop mobile apps
- About the team
- Our team owns app performance for the Amazon Shopping apps on iOS and Android. Every startup, tap, and scroll that millions of customers experience runs through the systems we build. We measure how the apps perform, optimize the paths that matter most, and build the tooling that keeps performance from regressing as hundreds of teams ship new features.
We are a group of engineers who like hard problems, help each other grow, and take pride in work that hundreds of teams and millions of customers depend on daily.
Basic qualifications
- - 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- - 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- - Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design
Preferred qualifications
- - 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- - Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- - Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers
- - 2+ years of Android development experience
- - 2+ years of Apple platform development experience

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location. Amazon also offers comprehensive benefits including health insurance (medical, dental, vision, prescription, Basic Life & AD&D insurance and option for Supplemental life plans, EAP, Mental Health Support, Medical Advice Line, Flexible Spending Accounts, Adoption and Surrogacy Reimbursement coverage), 401(k) matching, paid time off, and parental leave.
