About the role: Amazon's Global Finance Services (GFS) team is a fast-paced, team-focused, dynamic environment and delivering great experiences for our customers is top priority. GFS is seeking a Software Development Engineer.

As an Amazon SDE, You will design, develop, and deploy reliable distributed solutions at Amazon scale, working with core technologies including Java, Linux,AWS services and GenAI. Collaboration with teams across Amazon will be essential as you help redefine the industry. The ideal candidate excels in ambiguous environments, builds high-risk components first, and maintains focus on architectural goals while delivering incremental launches. You should create scalable, robust, and elegant solutions, valuing simplicity in solving complex problems.

Your analytical approach should be data-driven, with a deep understanding of customer needs and a passion for innovating on their behalf. You will participate in setting development team quality standards while maintaining a big-picture perspective. • Estimate engineering effort, plan implementation, and rollout system changes that meet requirements for functionality, performance, scalability, reliability, and adherence to development goals and principles.
• Must be able to independently design code and test major features, as well as work jointly with other team members to deliver complex changes.
• Must be able to effectively collaborate in a fast paced environment with multiple teams in a large organization (software development, QA, Project/Release Management, Build and Release, etc.,).
• Provide on-call production support for payment platform applications

Basic qualifications

• - Experience programming with at least one software programming language
• - 1+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

Preferred qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
