The Role
The successful candidate will work onsite 5 days a week in Frisco, TX.
- Your role
- Bring your specialist knowledge and experience to a company managing 50% of the world’s MIPS and play a critical role in our modernization mission. You’ll be in good company among our global community of experts leading the future of mainframe modernization. Experts who share knowledge openly and collaborate freely.
In this role, you’ll design, build and maintain the high-volume business logic that runs on the mainframe. At the same time you’ll play a key role in refactoring legacy code to enable modern cloud and mobile applications to seamlessly interact with the mainframe’s core data.

- Prevent decay and find efficiencies: Monitor the architecture and identify opportunities to optimize code to maintain and enhance mainframe performance.
- Debug and Test
- Find and fix: Debug, troubleshoot, and analyze complex system interactions to keep mission-critical applications running.
- Develop for the Future
- Bridge the gap: As an instrumental player in modernization, you’ll extract business logic from legacy systems for migration or integration with cloud-based services.

Who You Are
Required skills and experience
2 years experience working as a software engineer on complex software projects.
- This role requires advanced coding, debugging, and problem-solving skills with a strong focus on .NET
- Excellent coding skills and solid development experience (Java, Python, etc.)
- Software development methodologies, with demonstrated experience developing scalable and robust software.
- Experienced in relational and NoSQL databases, data mapping, XML/JSON, REST-based web services.
- Knowledge of architecture design - Microservices architecture, containers (Docker & k8s), messaging queues.
- Deep understanding of OOP and design patterns.
Preferred skills and experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Certification in one or more of the hyperscalers (Azure, AWS, and Google GCP) - otherwise, you can obtain certifications with Kyndryl.
- Experience with DevOps tools and modern engineering practices.
- The base compensation range for the position in the U.S. is -
- $92,040to$174,840based on a full-time schedule reflects the minimum and maximum target compensation Kyndryl, in good faith, believes it may pay for the role at the time of this posting.
Your actual compensation may vary depending on multiple factors legally permitted in the applicable jurisdiction, including, but not limited to, geography, relevant job-related skills, education and experience, certification and licenses, internal pay equity, and market and business consideration. The pay or salary range will not be below any applicable state, city or local minimum wage requirement.
There is a different applicable compensation range for the following work locations:
California (San Francisco Bay Area):$110,400to$209,880
California (All Other):$101,280to$192,360
Colorado: $92,040to$174,840
Massachusetts/ Virginia:$92,040to$192,360
New York City: $110,400to$209,880
Washington: $101,280to$192,360
Washington DC:$101,280to$192,360
- This position will be eligible for Kyndryl’s discretionary annual bonus program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Kyndryl’s applicable plans. You may also receive a comprehensive benefits package which includes medical and dental coverage, disability, retirement benefits, paid leave, and paid time off. Note: If this is a sales commission eligible role, you will be eligible to participate in a sales commission plan in lieu of the annual discretionary bonus program.
