Job Description:

This job is responsible for developing and delivering complex requirements to accomplish business goals. Key responsibilities of the job include ensuring that software is developed to meet functional, non-functional and compliance requirements, and solutions are well designed with maintainability/ease of integration and testing built-in from the outset. Job expectations include a strong knowledge of development and testing practices common to the industry and design and architectural patterns.

This role is essential to maintaining operational resilience, ensuring uninterrupted technology support, and delivering strategic business initiatives that depend on Quartz/Canvas capabilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Codes solutions and unit test to deliver a requirement/story per the defined acceptance criteria and compliance requirements
  • Designs, develops, and modifies architecture components, application interfaces, and solution enablers while ensuring principal architecture integrity is maintained
  • Mentors other software engineers and coach team on Continuous Integration and Continuous Development (CI-CD) practices and automating tool stack
  • Executes story refinement, definition of requirements, and estimating work necessary to realize a story through the delivery lifecycle
  • Performs spike/proof of concept as necessary to mitigate risk or implement new ideas
  • Automates manual release activities
  • Designs, develops, and maintains automated test suites (integration, regression, performance)
  • Act as the primary Quartz/Canvas technology SME within the AMRS region, providing technical leadership and support for business-critical applications.
  • Design, develop, enhance, and maintain applications and components built on the Quartz/Canvas technology stack.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of relevant work experience
  • Proficiency in programming language(s) required for the role
  • Quartz / QzRex / IMM Controls / Frontier Reconciliation SME with strong experience in reconciliation platform development, support, and enhancements.
  • Strong understanding of reconciliation concepts, workflows, and reconciliation data models.
  • Proficient in SQL development, database querying, data analysis, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience analyzing and resolving reconciliation breaks, exceptions, and data quality issues.
  • Ability to support application production environments, perform root-cause analysis, and implement sustainable solutions.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver reconciliation solutions aligned with business needs.
  • Strong understanding of system integrations, data mapping, and reconciliation reporting processes.
  • Familiarity with risk, controls, audit, and regulatory requirements related to reconciliation platforms.
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum delivery model and supporting end-to-end project delivery.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Good understanding of Global Markets back-office functions, including trade processing, settlements, cash and position reconciliations, and exception management.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and root-cause analysis skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with business, operations, and technology stakeholders.
  • Experience delivering technology solutions within a Global Markets or Investment Banking environment.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
