We are seeking a Lead Software Product Management and Reliability Engineer to provide production operational onsite coverage in London for the Fixed Income Interest Rates business across EMEA, covering critical electronic platforms including but not limited to eQuote, EOS, DeltaGrab, STP, Market Data & Connectivity associated with pricing, quoting, execution and post-trade workflows.
The position supports the trading desk across Bonds, Swaps and Repo products, be responsible for incident & problem management, production stability, observability, externally market driven readiness and SRE initiatives.
The Fixed Income Rates Trading Production Management team, which is part of Reliability and Production Engineering team, provides direct day to day support and integration services for the firm's Rates business on various platforms.
In the Technology division, we leverage innovation to build the connections and capabilities that power our Firm, enabling our clients and colleagues to redefine markets and shape the future of our communities. This is a Software Production Management & Reliability Engineering position at Director level, which is part of the job family responsible for overseeing the production environment, ensuring the operational reliability of deployed software, and implementing strategies to optimize performance and minimize downtime.

What you'll do in the role:
- Members of the team provide day to day support for the core system infrastructure.
- This role will include troubleshooting of application issues and other operational activities for supported systems and directly interfacing with Traders, Strats and Operations teams.
- Set the technical direction and vision for the software production management and reliability engineering team.
- Drive projects to optimize system performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Define standards and best practices for production operations and incident management.
- Establish and maintain relationships with vendors and industry partners to leverage cutting-edge solutions.
- Lead efforts to automate manual processes and improve operational efficiency.
- Act as a change agent to drive cultural transformation towards a DevOps mindset.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback to team members.
- Represent the team in technology forums and conferences to share expertise and gain insights.
- Mentor and coach team members to foster a culture of excellence and innovation.
What you’ll bring to the role:
- Capable of effectively handling incidents for critical systems in a fast-paced environment
- Strong infrastructure knowledge in Linux / Unix, Windows, databases, storage and networking technologies
- Solid understanding of client-server applications and distributed systems
- SQL, shell scripting, perl scripting, Python scripting.
- Proven ability to deliver improvements to supported systems
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field or equivalent experience
- Good team player with a sense of integrity and ownership
- Ability to work collaboratively across teams
- Ability to work within tight time constraints and resource dependencies
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Excellent problem solving skills
- High degree of motivation to expand technical and business knowledge
- Performance-oriented and highly motivated
- Strong technical ability in solving low-level problems
