What Application Development & Maintenance contributes to Cardinal Health

Information Technology oversees the effective development, delivery, and operation of computing and information services. This function anticipates, plans, and delivers Information Technology solutions and strategies that enable operations and drive business value.

Application Development & Maintenance performs configuration or coding to develop, enhance and sustain the organization's software systems in a cross-functional team environment through adherence to established design control processes and good engineering practices. This job family programs and configures end user applications, systems, databases and websites to achieve the organization's internal needs and externally-facing business needs. Application Development & Maintenance partners with business leaders, investigates user needs and conducts regular assessments, maintenance and enhancements of existing applications.

Qualifications

  • 2-4 years of application support, production support, or related technical support experience preferred
  • Prior DME industry experience preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred
  • Experience troubleshooting application issues, analyzing system behavior, and resolving user-reported incidents
  • Brightree experience is a plus, but not required

What is expected of you and others at this level

  • Applies working knowledge of technical concepts, business processes, and support methodologies to perform a variety of assignments
  • Independently handles most production support tickets, user requests, troubleshooting activities, and stakeholder interactions
  • Investigates and resolves moderately complex technical, functional, and process-related issues with limited guidance
  • Works on projects and operational initiatives of moderate scope and complexity
  • Performs root cause analysis and recommends corrective actions to prevent recurring issues
  • Collaborates effectively with business stakeholders, developers, vendors, and cross-functional teams
  • Contributes to process documentation, knowledge articles, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Exercises sound judgment when prioritizing incidents, service requests, and operational support activities
  • Works independently on day-to-day assignments while escalating highly complex issues when needed
  • Assists with knowledge transfer and onboarding of less experienced team members
