The Northrop Grumman Military Internship Program (NG-MIP) is an approved SkillBridge Program under Dept. of Defense Instruction 1322.29. The NG-MIP program is an opportunity for transitioning service members to gain valuable civilian work experience through an individual internship during their last 6 months of service , for up to 180 days . The Northrop Grumman Military Internship Program is open to all ranks and experience levels. SkillBridge participants are not eligible for compensation from Northrop Grumman, as they continue to receive military compensation and benefits as Active-duty service members .

Responsibilities for this internship position are:

Northrop Grumman Corporation (NGC) has developed the Northrop Grumman – Military Internship Program (DoD SkillBridge) utilizing the DoDI guidance for Skillbridge. During this program the service member will be on-site at his or her host company performing an individual internship in an entry to mid-level career type role. The service member will be on the job training supporting a work schedule equivalent to 40hrs per week. Outlined below are the Goals, Objectives, and Outcomes for the program.

Goals – Provide transitioning service members fellowship-style job skills training during the last portion(s) of their military commitment. This program is specifically designed to offer internships that result in the potential to transition to a full-time opportunity as the conclusion of the training. Interns will serve as a pipeline for high-speed, motivated military candidates into NGC.

Objectives - Service Members who complete the Intern program will be highly trained, capable, future employees that align to the specific needs of the organization and are prepared to meet the NG mission “Defining Possible” on Day 1. This program provides a comprehensive internship experience including professional development, networking with leadership, and training specifically focused on NG leadership principles, company history, customer/stakeholder engagement, product and service overview, and core job responsibilities.

Outcome – Offer transitioning service member a rewarding opportunity to join the Northrop Grumman team.

DoD SkillBridge Eligibility:

  • - Has served at least 180 days on active duty
  • - Is within 12 months of separation or retirement
  • - Will receive an honorable discharge
  • - Has taken any service TAPS/TGPS
  • - Has attended or participated in an ethics brief within the last 12 months
  • - Received Unit Commander (first O-4/Field Grade commander in chain of command) written authorization and approval to participate in DoD SkillBridge Program prior to start of internship.

GCCS-J is the Department of Defense (DoD) Joint Command and Control (C2) system of record. GCCS-J supports commanders and warfighters as they conduct joint and multinational operations by providing a fused picture of the battlespace within an integrated system that supports Joint Warfighter needs today. The program's Intelligence product area is focused on improving how intelligence data is integrated, analyzed, displayed, and operationalized across the GCCS-J modernization effort, enabling faster and better-informed decisions for mission leaders and joint operators.

This SkillBridge Intelligence Analyst role will collect, interpret, and transform raw operational, geospatial, and threat-related information into actionable intelligence while helping guide the development and modernization of intelligence capabilities within GCCS-J. The ideal candidate is disciplined, security-focused, operationally credible, and able to translate real-world mission needs into clear recommendations for leadership and technical teams.

Core Roles:

· Data Collector - Gather and organize intelligence from reports, imagery, message traffic, communications, operational data, and other relevant sources.

· Threat Assessor - Analyze adversary capabilities, patterns, movements, and intent to identify risks, support warning functions, and anticipate likely courses of action.

· Briefing Specialist - Convert complex operational and intelligence information into clear, concise products for commanders, program leadership, and engineering teams.

· Mission-to-Product Translator - Help guide GCCS-J modernization by translating analyst workflows, operational requirements, and mission pain points into inputs for product owners, systems engineers, developers, and testers.

Key Responsibilities:

· Collect, review, and assess intelligence from multiple sources, including reports, imagery, maps, historical records, operational data, and message traffic.

· Research targets, threat networks, operational environments, and adversary patterns to support situational awareness and mission planning.

· Monitor threat activity, communications, and movement trends to identify relevant indicators, anomalies, and emerging risks.

· Produce intelligence summaries, threat assessments, decision-support products, daily reports, and time-sensitive warning updates for leadership and mission stakeholders.

· Answer high-priority requests for information from commanders, program leaders, engineers, and other mission partners.

· Brief complex intelligence findings in a concise, decision-focused manner to both technical and non-technical audiences.

· Support GCCS-J intelligence capability development by identifying user needs, analyst workflows, data gaps, and operational pain points.

· Translate mission requirements into clear recommendations, candidate features, user stories, acceptance considerations, or workflow improvements for GCCS-J modernization teams.

· Collaborate with product owners, systems engineers, software engineers, and test teams to ensure intelligence-related capabilities align with operational realities and user expectations.

· Participate in demonstrations, reviews, and feedback sessions to validate that intelligence tools, data flows, and operational outputs support real-world mission use.

· Help evaluate how intelligence data sources and analyst functions integrate into GCCS-J command and control workflows across the Intelligence product area.

· Maintain strict adherence to classification guidance, security procedures, information handling rules, and operational protocols.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

· Current or recent military experience in any aspects of All-source intelligence “HUMINT, MASINT, SIGINT, GEOINT, IMINT, OSINT, TECHINT”, Targeting and Operational Mission Planning.

· Strong analytical thinking with the ability to evaluate incomplete, conflicting, or time-sensitive information and produce sound assessments.

· Ability to transform raw information into actionable intelligence products for operational or leadership use.
