Sr Software Engineer, Tax Engine

About the Role

Want to build systems that power one of the world's largest e-commerce platforms? We are looking for engineers who love solving complex, real-world problems at massive scale. Our team builds the core tax calculation and invoicing platform that ensures accurate, compliant transactions across global marketplaces - covering sales tax, VAT, and tax invoicing for physical and digital products.

Every calculation matters. We operate in a fast-moving regulatory landscape where tax laws and rates change constantly, and our systems must deliver precision at high throughput - every single time.

• What You will Do
• •Partner with the team to inform and drive business decisions through engineering excellence
• •Design, build, test, deploy, and maintain scalable software solutions focused on performance, cost efficiency, and security
• •Write high-quality, production-grade distributed systems software
• •Apply software engineering best practices to ensure consistently high-quality deliverables
• •Work in an agile environment where priorities are clear and impact is immediate
• •Contribute across the full software development lifecycle - from design and documentation to testing and operations

• What We are Looking For

• Preferred Technical Foundation
• •Good experience with object-oriented programming languages
• •Familiarity with Linux-based development environments
• •Experience with relational database systems
• •Background in building or operating large-scale distributed systems

Key job responsibilities

• - 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• - 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
• - 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• - Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
• - Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

- 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
