Step into a strategically important role where you can influence sourcing decisions, strengthen supplier partnerships, and contribute to the sustainable development of market-leading products. If you are an experienced procurement professional who enjoys driving value through collaboration, commercial excellence, and data-driven decision-making, this may be your next opportunity with the VELUX Group.

Meet your future team

You will become part of Global Procurement and report directly to the Senior Category Manager. Joining an experienced international procurement team, you will play a key role in shaping and executing sourcing strategies within the Aluminium & Metal Parts category.

The team works closely with colleagues across functions and geographies to ensure long-term supplier performance, supply resilience, sustainability progress, and cost competitiveness. In this position, you will collaborate with stakeholders throughout the organisation and build strong relationships with suppliers around the world.

What we offer

As Strategic Buyer, you will take ownership of strategic sourcing initiatives and supplier relationships across the full procurement cycle. You will contribute directly to business performance by identifying opportunities, driving implementation, and creating measurable value for the VELUX Group.

More specifically your tasks will be to:

  • Lead strategic procurement projects from opportunity identification through implementation and benefit realisation
  • Build, maintain, and deliver a robust cost-out pipeline supported by business cases, milestones, ownership, and value tracking
  • Manage supplier relationships and lead commercial negotiations to improve cost, quality, delivery performance, sustainability, and risk management
  • Contribute to category strategy development and drive execution within the assigned supplier portfolio
  • Conduct market analyses, RFIs, RFQs, supplier evaluations, negotiations, contracting, and implementation activities
  • Communicate sourcing decisions, supplier developments, opportunities, and risks to internal stakeholders in a clear and transparent manner
  • Monitor procurement KPIs and use data insights to identify priorities and document business impact
  • Build trusted and productive relationships with suppliers and cross-functional stakeholders
  • Apply structured procurement processes, reporting, documentation, data management, and follow-up activities to ensure high-quality execution and delivery

You should expect approximately 30-45 travel days per year.

What you will bring

You are an experienced procurement professional who enjoys working in a collaborative and international environment. You combine strong commercial awareness with analytical thinking and a structured approach to execution. You build positive relationships with stakeholders at all levels and are comfortable influencing decisions across a matrix organisation.

Moreover, we expect that you:

  • Hold a relevant degree within engineering, supply chain, economics, business administration, or a similar discipline
  • Have at least five years of experience in strategic procurement within an international OEM or a similarly complex industrial environment
  • Have proven experience managing strategic sourcing processes, supplier negotiations, contracting activities, cross-functional projects, and implementation of measurable business results
  • Are an experienced user of procurement and analytics tools, ideally including SAP, Ariba, and Microsoft 365
  • Communicate fluently in English and are comfortable working across cultures and geographical locations
  • Demonstrate strong negotiation, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills
  • Work in a structured, detail-oriented, and data-driven manner
  • Thrive in a role where you can independently plan priorities, drive progress, and adapt to changing circumstances

Experience with aluminium, steel, or metal parts is advantageous but not essential.
