About the role:

As Strategy Director, you will play a pivotal role in shaping Malvern Panalytical's long-term growth and value creation agenda. Reporting to the VP Strategy & M&A, you will lead the development and ongoing refinement of the enterprise strategy, helping the organisation make informed decisions and translate strategic priorities into coordinated action across a global business.

Working closely with the President, Executive Management Team, and senior leaders, you will provide insight, challenge, and structure to strategic decision-making. You will coordinate enterprise strategic planning, support value creation and transformation initiatives, and contribute to the evaluation of inorganic growth opportunities through acquisitions and strategic partnerships.

What you'll be doing:

  • Lead the enterprise strategy process, translating market trends, competitive insights, and business priorities into a clear strategic roadmap.
  • Partner with divisional and functional leaders to align business strategies with organizational objectives and value creation goals.
  • Coordinate strategic planning, governance, reporting, and performance tracking across key enterprise initiatives.
  • Support M&A activity by defining strategic growth themes, evaluating opportunities, and contributing to commercial diligence processes.
  • Provide oversight and challenge across transformation, integration, and value creation programmes to help ensure successful execution.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, helping drive critical strategic decisions across the business.

About you:

  • Significant experience leading strategy engagements, enterprise strategy programmes, or value creation initiatives within a consulting, corporate strategy, private equity, or similarly complex environment.
  • Strong strategic and commercial acumen, with the ability to analyze complex information and develop clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders, challenge constructively, and lead cross-functional initiatives without direct authority.
  • Experience translating strategy into execution through governance, planning, transformation, or organizational change initiatives.
  • Experience evaluating growth opportunities, acquisitions, or commercial diligence activities within a strategic context.
  • A relevant degree or professional qualification. Experience within industrial technology, scientific instrumentation, life sciences, private equity-backed businesses, or an MBA would be advantageous.

What's in it for you

  • Play a key role in shaping the future direction and growth strategy of a global technology leader.
  • Work directly with executive leadership on the organization’s most important strategic priorities and decisions.
  • Influence enterprise-wide transformation, value creation, and growth initiatives.
  • Gain exposure to market strategy, M&A, commercial diligence, and business performance at the highest level.
  • Enjoy a competitive rewards package and opportunities for continued professional development and career growth.
