Summary
This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Serves as the Project Manager for the District's hydrographic survey program, overseeing surveys that support navigation channels, harbors, dredging, and other civil works projects.
Duties
- Supervises the survey crews, dredge inspectors and coordinates all hydrographic survey work/projects.
- Serves as the technical advisor on hydrographic survey procedures and standards.
- Attends pre-bid and pre-solicitation meetings to discuss and clarify hydrographic survey requirements concerning scheduling, work layout, accident prevention and/or work progress.
- Prepares correspondence and is responsible for all reports regarding survey activities.
- Develops new techniques to analyze hydrographic surveys.
Qualifications

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience for GS-12: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Review civil work and/or hydrographic survey projects plans, specifications, cost estimates, and/or schedules; 2) Provide guidance on cost, equipment, and/or performance assurance of surveying processes; 3) Serve as a technical advisor on hydrographic survey procedures and/or standards; and 4) communicate with internal and external stakeholders on civil works and/or hydrographic survey functions of an organization. Qualification requirement: Qualifications must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
