What this role is all about:

We are looking for a Supply Chain Intern in La Crosse, WI.

  • Timeframe: Summer 2027, approximately 12 weeks
  • Schedule: Monday – Friday, regular business hours

The Supply Chain Intern supports day-to-day supply chain operations at Select Custom Solutions while gaining practical experience across key functional areas, including procurement, logistics, inventory management, and production planning. Working closely with the Supply Chain team and cross-functional partners, this role assists with supply chain activities, data analysis, process improvement initiatives, and special projects that support operational efficiency and business needs.

This internship provides exposure to end-to-end supply chain processes within a food and beverage manufacturing environment while developing foundational knowledge of supply chain systems, processes, and best practices.

Job Duties:

  • Data Analysis: Collect and analyze data to support supply chain operations, including demand forecasting, inventory management, and logistics optimization.
  • Inventory Management: Assist in monitoring and managing inventory levels to ensure product availability while minimizing excess stock.
  • Procurement Support: Help with supplier communications, order placement, and tracking of purchase orders.
  • Logistics Coordination: Support the logistics team in coordinating shipments, tracking deliveries, and resolving transportation issues.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to the development and implementation of best practices.
  • Reporting: Prepare and maintain reports on supply chain performance metrics, including inventory levels, order fulfillment rates, and delivery times.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with various departments, including production, quality assurance, and sales, to ensure seamless supply chain operations.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Understand and adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices and Safety Protocol.
  • Stop any observed unsafe acts and obey facility safety rules and procedures.
  • Correct or report any observed safety hazards.
  • Support safety policies and programs.

Qualifications:

Education Required:

Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.

Experience Required:

  • Minimum one (1) year working with and managing business reporting tools
  • Understanding of ERP functional areas such as: Accounting, Supply Chain, & Manufacturing
  • Ability to manage medium-size projects from start to finish including but not limited to setting meetings and agenda, capturing notes and action items, troubleshooting issues, identifying roadblocks, communication to stakeholders, recording and tracking of project work items, and gathering end user signoff.

  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with executives, managers, colleagues and individuals inside and outside the organization.
  • Ability to extract, analyze, and act on information with limited supervisory input.

  • Advanced computer skills with Microsoft Excel, Power Point, Word, Outlook and field-specific software.
  • Demonstrate excellent organizational skills, establish priorities, ability to multitask, and meet deadlines in a professional manner in collaboration with colleagues.
  • Strong problem-solving and quantitative critical thinking skills
  • Basic understanding of supply chain concepts and principles.
