What we're looking for
The ideal candidate will have 3 or more years of receiving, warehouse, shipping or inventory control experience and enjoys working independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Job Summary
Supports Wenthe-Davidson’s material flow of incoming materials and inventory control practices. This flow is directly linked to the productivity of our just-in-time (JIT) work cells. Responsible for receipt of all incoming materials, supplies, equipment and returned goods, as well as conducting inventory counts and resolving any discrepancies. Contribute to the organization by helping ensure that material is available when needed and any discrepancies are resolved to prevent disruption of finished product to our customers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Process receiving paperwork and maintain records.
- Conduct cycle counts. Investigate discrepancies and report differences to appropriate resource(s). Process transactions to reconcile inventory records.
- Perform daily review and reconciliation of negative on hand inventories.
- Utilize material audit reports to reconcile raw material inventory.
- Locate customer orders and expedite the processing of orders.
- Maintain warehouse for organization and cleanliness.
- Support continuous improvement activities by identifying opportunities to enhance inventory accuracy.
- Follow established procedures for rejected material in a timely manner, including processing transactions to place material in non-nettable inventory, preparing material to be returned, scrapping material as directed, or other disposition as instructed.
- Support the Production Planner in tracking past dues and customer requests.
- Support the Sr. Buyer with sourcing tasks for MRO items.
- Primary back up to unload incoming material.
- Primary back up to production planning and purchasing.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment and APICS certification OR 3 years of receiving, warehouse, shipping or inventory control experience.
- Demonstrated experience navigating and utilizing an ERP.
- Strong math, computer, communication, reasoning and organizational skills.
- Ability to operate a fork truck, crane and other material handling equipment.
- Ability to work without direct supervision/self-motivated.
Physical Demands
- The ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds for up to eight (8) hours per day.
- The ability to bend and lift fifty (50) pounds between floor level and a height of five feet six inches (5'6").
- The ability to pull or push up to 1150 pounds with motorized pallet jack.
- The ability to walk or stand for up to eight (8) hours per day.
- The ability to work in typical Wisconsin levels of heat and humidity.
- The ability to use hands to manipulate objects.
