Job Description:

Job Description Summary

The HPC Integrated Systems Test team validates complex HPE HPC & AI solutions before release, helping ensure customers receive reliable, high-quality systems for demanding environments. The team works across high-performance server platforms, networking, storage, software, firmware, operating systems, and management interfaces used in advanced HPC and AI solutions.

This Technical Program Manager III role is for an experienced program leader who can lead cross-functional execution for complex HPC & AI systems programs. The role drives planning, scheduling, dependency management, risk mitigation, stakeholder alignment, and release-readiness coordination across rack-scale, accelerator, interconnect, memory, power, thermal, and large-scale systems with supercomputing complexity. The Program Manager partners with firmware, hardware, software, IST, product, vendor, and global test teams to align requirements, execution plans, issues, and key decisions with program milestones.

Role Impact

This role supports HPE’s work on leading-edge AI hardware and advanced HPC technologies that enable the next generation of AI development and applications. The Technical Program Manager III plays a key role in leading complex integrated systems programs before release, helping ensure program milestones, risks, dependencies, and release-readiness decisions are clearly managed across cross-functional teams.

By driving alignment across engineering, program, product, vendor, manufacturing, and global test teams, this role contributes to improved execution efficiency, stronger release readiness, and the quality and success of HPE’s HPC & AI product portfolio.

About You

  • You are an experienced technical program leader who enjoys coordinating complex engineering programs across hardware, software, firmware, operating systems, networking, storage, and management interfaces.
  • You are motivated by working on leading-edge AI hardware and HPC technologies that support next-generation AI development and applications.
  • You understand the importance of coordinating validation coverage, schedules, resource capacity, risks, budgets, and cross-functional communication to improve release readiness and product quality.
  • You look for opportunities to identify integration risks early, strengthen validation planning, improve execution efficiency, and keep complex product releases on schedule.
  • You drive alignment across engineering, product, vendor, manufacturing, and global test teams to resolve program issues, manage dependencies, and provide clear release-readiness feedback.
  • You communicate clearly about technical issues, program status, risks, dependencies, priorities, and recommendations with both technical teams and leadership.
  • Must be a US Citizen

Knowledge and Skills

  • Program planning and execution experience in complex engineering environments, preferably within HPC, AI, systems, or platform-based product development.
  • Strong risk, dependency, issue, and escalation management skills across cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to translate requirements, feature changes, schedules, risks, and dependencies into clear program plans that support validation coverage and release readiness.
  • Experience creating and managing program schedules, budgets, resource plans, and milestone tracking.
  • Familiarity with project planning tools and software packages used to manage schedules, deliverables, risks, and program outcomes.
  • Cross-functional leadership skills, including the ability to influence without direct authority and drive alignment across matrixed teams.
  • Strong stakeholder communication skills, with the ability to communicate program status, risks, dependencies, issues, and recommendations to technical teams and leadership.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills in fast-moving product development environments.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a global, culturally diverse engineering and test organization.

Responsibilities

  • Leads end-to-end program execution, including planning, scheduling, milestone tracking, and deliverable management across cross-functional teams.
  • Drives alignment across firmware, hardware, software, IST, product, vendor, manufacturing, and external partner teams to meet program milestones.
  • Manages risks, dependencies, and issues, ensuring timely escalation, mitigation planning, and follow-through.
  • Coordinates resource planning and prioritization to align validation coverage, lab capacity, and execution activities with program objectives.
  • Communicates program status, risks, dependencies, key decisions, and release-readiness updates to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Ensures programs are delivered within scope, cost, schedule, and quality commitments.
  • Partners with engineering and product teams to define requirements, execution plans, validation priorities, and release-readiness criteria.
  • Identifies and drives process improvements that improve execution efficiency, predictability, and cross-functional communication.
  • Mentors less-experienced staff members on program execution practices and contributes to overall team capability.

Education and Experience Required

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Program Management, or an equivalent technical field; or equivalent experience.

Typically 6+ years of program or project management experience, including experience leading cross-functional programs in complex engineering environments; experience in HPC, systems, or platform-based product development is preferred.
