In addition, EFT provides unique technology solutions and innovation for Wells Fargo Technology, Enterprise Shared Services, and Enterprise Data Management. This combined portfolio of applications and tools are continually engineered to meet the challenges of stability, security, scalability, and speed.
Within EFT the Credit Risk Technology Team is seeking a Technology Director who will direct a significant portfolio with accountability for critical data platforms, business applications, modernization initiatives, and production operations supporting Corporate Risk stakeholders. The role will balance reliable operation of legacy platforms with the multi-year Credit Risk 360 transformation, including modern data models, AI-ready semantic capabilities, application and portal modernization, technology-mandated change, platform migration, and decommissioning. The successful candidate will lead a large global organization of engineering managers, technical leaders, and engineers; manage investment and capacity; and partner closely with product, Risk, Finance, data, architecture, controls, and operations leaders.
At Wells Fargo, we value you for who you are and the potential you possess. Our innovative approach to work empowers individuals nationwide to express themselves, excel, and take bold steps. Recognizing each person's uniqueness brings out their utmost capabilities. Join us at Wells Fargo, where we strive to bring out your best by giving you ours in return.
In this role, you will:
- Lead a global organization of engineering managers, technical leads, and engineers responsible for Credit Risk data platforms, applications, delivery, and production operations
- Own technology strategy, roadmaps, delivery outcomes, operational health, and investment planning for the assigned Credit Risk portfolio
- Maintain business continuity and regulatory readiness across critical legacy platforms while accelerating modernization and decommissioning
- Deliver the Credit Risk 360 target state, including platform capabilities, core data models, curated business use cases, modernized workflows, and migration from legacy platforms and portals
- Direct delivery for Financial Risk Data, ACL and loss forecasting and related Credit Risk data and application capabilities, as assigned
- Drive technology-mandated changes, Data Private Cloud and target-state data-platform migrations, application upgrades, vulnerability remediation, resiliency improvements, and retirement of end-of-life technology
- Advance AI-enabled engineering and business capabilities, including AI-ready data, semantic layers, automated regression and refactoring, and controlled agentic solutions
- Partner with product, Corporate Risk, Finance, architecture, data, operations, controls, audit, and enterprise technology teams to set priorities and resolve dependencies
- Manage budgets, workforce plans, vendors, sourcing, and engineering capacity across run-the-business and change-the-business commitments
- Establish clear measures for delivery predictability, data quality, platform health, operational resilience, engineering productivity, risk reduction, and business value
- Build a culture of ownership, transparency, technical excellence, succession, and continuous improvement
Credit Risk Technology Delivery & Operations
- Oversee design, build, maintenance, and enhancement of enterprise Credit Risk repositories, analytical data services, reporting capabilities, and business applications
- Deliver trustworthy, governed, and reconciled data sourced from a large and complex upstream ecosystem, with strong lineage, controls, observability, and auditability
- Improve delivery through disciplined prioritization, dependency management, release governance, capacity planning, and measurable operational readiness
- Protect production stability through incident prevention, recovery readiness, performance and capacity management, vulnerability remediation, and elimination of key-person dependencies
- Ensure change commitments meet quality, traceability, control, and supportability expectations before production release
Data, Architecture & Engineering Excellence
- Establish the data layer as the authoritative source for Credit Risk calculations, controls, and reusable business logic
- Advance modern target-state patterns using scalable data processing, curated data products, governed semantic access, APIs, and user-centric web experiences
- Promote API-first, modular, resilient, and cloud-ready architecture while reducing unnecessary duplication across compute, storage, and presentation layers
- Drive DevSecOps, automated testing, continuous delivery, platform engineering, site reliability, and objective engineering-quality measures
- Apply AI responsibly for engineering productivity and business enablement, with clear controls, human oversight, and measurable adoption and value
- Provide leadership across Java, .NET, Python, JavaScript, Big Data, Spark/PySpark, Ab Initio, SSIS, APIs, and mainframe technologies within a mixed modern and legacy estate
Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing global engineering organization with clear ownership for platforms, applications, delivery, and operations
- Build trusted partnerships with Credit Risk, Finance, product, data, architecture, controls, audit, operations, and enterprise technology stakeholders
- Communicate strategy, priorities, trade-offs, delivery progress, risks, and decisions with clarity and transparency
- Develop engineering managers and technical leaders who can independently drive complex, cross-platform outcomes
- Manage budgets, strategic investments, vendor relationships, sourcing models, and workforce plans with strong financial discipline
- Create an inclusive culture that encourages constructive challenge, enterprise thinking, innovation, accountability, and continuous learning
Required Qualifications:
