The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced API & Integration Test Automation Engineer until March 2027 to design, develop and maintain automated testing solutions supporting healthcare and enterprise applications. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality software outcomes by building robust API and integration test automation frameworks, integrating testing into CI/CD pipelines, and supporting validation of healthcare interoperability solutions and enterprise integration platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain automated API and integration test suites, including functional, integration, regression and end-to-end test scenarios.
- Develop and maintain automated testing frameworks supporting REST, SOAP and event-driven integration patterns, including API validation, schema validation and data integrity testing.
- Build and support automated test execution within Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines, integrating testing into deployment and release processes to support quality gates and continuous delivery.
- Collaborate closely with software engineers, platform engineers and solution architects to ensure testability is embedded within solution design and delivery.
- Analyse test failures, perform root-cause investigations, produce quality metrics and test evidence, and contribute to continual improvement of testing practices and automation standards.
About You
We are looking for someone who brings judgement, curiosity and a collaborative approach to work that matters.
Skills & Experience
- Demonstrated experience designing, developing and maintaining automated API and integration testing frameworks, with experience in software testing, quality engineering or test automation.
- Strong understanding of REST, HTTP/S, JSON, XML, API contract testing principles and experience validating APIs through assertions, schema validation, authentication and negative testing scenarios.
- Experience implementing automated testing within Azure DevOps or similar CI/CD environments, alongside modern software delivery practices and Git-based source control.
- Experience testing authentication and authorisation frameworks including OAuth2, OpenID Connect and token-based security models, with the ability to analyse logs and troubleshoot complex integration issues.
- Experience working in Agile delivery environments and collaborating effectively with engineering, architecture and platform teams. Exposure to healthcare interoperability standards including HL7 FHIR, healthcare integration platforms, API testing tools and cloud-native environments will be highly regarded.
