The Toolmaker II role supports manufacturing operations through the design, fabrication, maintenance, repair, and modification of tooling, fixtures, gauges, molds, and production equipment. This position is based in Dexter, Michigan and plays a critical role in ensuring manufacturing processes operate safely, efficiently, and to quality standards through precision machining, tooling support, and continuous improvement activities.
Tool Maker II is an experienced skilled trade position responsible for the manufacture, maintenance, repair, and modification of production tooling, fixtures, and equipment. This role requires a strong understanding of machining processes, blueprint interpretation, and precision measurement to support safe, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing operation.
Available shift are:
1st Shift: 6:00am-2:00pm M-F
1st Shift: 7:15am-3:15pm M-F
Job Specific Responsibilities:
Manufacture, repair, modify, and maintain tools, dies, molds, fixtures, and gauges that meet production requirements.
Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, CAD models, and specifications.
Set up and operate manual and CNC machines (mills, Lathes, grinders, Welder, etc.)
Perform precision machining to tight tolerances using various metals and materials.
Diagnose tooling issues and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
Use precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, etc.)
Collaborate with engineers, production teams, and other Tool Maker personnel on tooling improvements.
Maintain accurate documentation of tooling changes and repairs.
Follow all safety, quality, and housekeeping standards.
- Required Knowledge and Experience:
- Requires minimum of 1 year of experience
Nice to Have:
Welding experience (Mig, Tig, and Plastic Welding)
TRAK Programming experience
3 years minimum experience programming CNC Machines.
For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$55,200.00 - $82,800.00
This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Operations Incentive Plan (OIP).
The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance , Health Savings Account , Healthcare Flexible Spending Account , Life insurance, Long-term disability leave , Dependent daycare spending account , Tuition assistance/reimbursement , and Simple Steps (global well-being program).
The following benefits and additional compensation are available to all regular employees: Incentive plans, 401(k) plan plus employer contribution and match , Short-term disability , Paid time off , Paid holidays , Employee Stock Purchase Plan , Employee Assistance Program , Non-qualified Retirement Plan Supplement (subject to IRS earning minimums) , and Capital Accumulation Plan (available to Vice Presidents and above, or subject to IRS earning minimums).
