Description:

Trainee Placement Support Technician

About the role

We are looking for a highly organised and detail-oriented professional to support the administrative management of Cargo facilities, binders, and line slips across their full lifecycle. This role plays a key part in ensuring the accurate creation, renewal, tracking, and reporting of facility documentation, helping to maintain smooth operations and strong governance within the Cargo service team.

You will work closely with the Cargo service team, the DART team, Claims, and other internal stakeholders to coordinate the preparation and processing of facility slips, endorsements, declarations, and supporting documentation. A major part of the role is maintaining accurate data throughout the validity period of each facility, ensuring that records are complete, current, and ready for reporting, audit, and leadership review.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and takes pride in managing detailed work accurately and efficiently.

What can you expect:

  • In this role, you can expect a varied workload with responsibility across several important operational and reporting activities. Day to day, you will be liaising between different teams to support the creation and renewal of Cargo facility slips and endorsements, making sure documents are uploaded correctly to Whitespace and processed once bound.
  • You will also be involved in the handling of bordereaux and monthly declarations, as directed by the Cargo facility service team, as well as managing Profit Commissions where required. In addition to the transactional work, you will help produce quarterly reports for the Cargo facility service team and leadership meetings, giving stakeholders the information they need to monitor performance and manage facilities effectively.
  • Another key part of the role will be working with Claims to prepare annual claims performance reports and supporting the team through audit processes. This means you will have the opportunity to contribute to both the operational accuracy and the broader oversight of Cargo facility management.

We will rely on you to:

  • Liaise effectively between the Cargo service team and the DART team to support the creation and renewal of facility slips and endorsements
  • Upload documentation to Whitespace and process slips and endorsements once bound
  • Handle bordereaux and/or monthly declarations as directed by the Cargo facility service team
  • Manage Profit Commissions as directed by the Cargo facility service team
  • Maintain accurate data relating to Cargo facilities throughout their validity periods
  • Produce quarterly reports for the Cargo facility service team and/or leadership meetings
  • Liaise with Claims to create annual claims performance reports for use by the Cargo facility service team and/or leadership meetings
  • Support the Cargo facility service team with audit processes
  • Work with a high level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with internal stakeholders across teams

What you need to have:

  • Minimum 2:1 University Degree (or equivalent)
  • Previous experience or a strong interest in insurance operations, account administration, broking support or a related administrative role
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise a high-volume workload and meet tight SLAs
  • A basic understanding of underwriting and policy administration processes
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence when corresponding with brokers, carriers, and offshore operations teams
  • High attention to detail and accurate data entry skills
  • A proactive, reliable, and collaborative approach

What makes you stand out:

  • An interest in insurance, account management or how policies and endorsements are managed
  • A keen eye for detail and a willingness to learn how to check, track and update information accurately
  • An interest in working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change and teamwork matters
  • A proactive attitude and an eagerness to ask questions, learn quickly and take ownership of your work
  • An interest in improving ways of working and helping teams stay organized and efficient

Why join our team:

  • We foster a vibrant and inclusive culture where you can work with talented colleagues to create new solutions and have impact for colleagues, clients and communities.
  • Our scale enables us to provide a range of career opportunities, as well as benefits and rewards to enhance your well-being.
