At least one year of programming experience through internships, research, coursework, teaching, personal projects, open source, or hackathons
Familiarity using AI as a learning, productivity, and engineering tool , and as an iterative coding partner, to accelerate engineering work while exercising strong judgment around accuracy, security, and when to ask for help
Strong foundation in computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and software design
Experience with one or more programming languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Go, or C++, and familiarity with relevant frameworks, tools, or technologies such as React or similar. Technical requirements vary by team.
Previous software engineering internship experience strongly preferred
Strong communication skills and product sense
Passion for Pinterest, comfort with ambiguity, and a growth mindset with a willingness to continuously learn
