We are currently seeking a highly skilled & motivated Vactor Truck Driver in the Tucson area to join our team. Candidate must have knowledge of operation of Vactor Truck.

DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Safely operate a vac truck to support excavation and utility crews in a manner that reduces risk and liabilities.
  • Perform and properly document pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck to ensure they are in a safe and legal condition.
  • Maintain accurate records of trip details, including mileage, fuel consumption, and maintenance reports and hours worked.
  • Communicate effectively with project managers, equipment operators, and other team members to coordinate work schedules in a direct and friendly manner.
  • Always adhere to Achen-Gardner Construction's safety policies and procedures.
  • Perform basic maintenance on the truck when necessary.
  • Accurately navigate a vac truck using instructions, maps or GPS, to a wide variety of locations both on road and off.
  • Properly wear and safely use PPE.
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Arizona Class B or A CDL with tanker endorsement in good standing.
  • Valid DOT Medical Certification.
  • 3 years of experience operating vac trucks preferred.
  • Knowledge on underground utilities and construction practices preferred.
  • Knowledge of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Basic mechanical skills for minor truck maintenance.
  • Willingness to travel to various job sites as needed.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to read, understand and navigate using paper and/or digital maps.
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time.
  • May include some weekend and evening work, depending on current projects.
  • Working outdoors in AZ climate.
