The Vessel Crew Assistant supports the safe and efficient operation of a passenger and vehicle ferry. This is an entry-level position designed for someone who enjoys hands-on work, being outdoors, working as part of a team, and learning new skills.
Typical duties may include:
Assisting passengers while boarding and exiting the vessel
Helping crew members load and unload vehicles and freight
Assisting with line handling under supervision
Keeping passenger and work areas clean and organized
Performing basic cleaning and maintenance tasks
Participating in safety drills and training
Learning basic vessel safety procedures
Helping passengers during the voyage
Communicating with other crew members
Completing other duties as assigned
Qualifications: Applicants should be dependable, safety-conscious, willing to learn, able to follow instructions, and comfortable working as part of a team. Applicants must be comfortable working outdoors and around water. No previous maritime experience is required.
Schedule: Part-time, approximately 10–20 hours per week, including some weekends and early mornings.
Starting Pay: $20.00 per hour.
