Are you passionate about animal welfare and looking to build your career in veterinary care? We’re looking for a caring, enthusiastic and reliable Veterinary Care Assistant to join our lovely team at Medivet Leigh-on-Sea! Our friendly and supportive practice is home to a fantastic team of 2 Veterinary Surgeons, 4 Registered Veterinary Nurses and 5 Client Care Assistants. We pride ourselves on working together to provide excellent care for our patients and a welcoming experience for our clients.
We’re looking for someone who shares our passion for animal welfare, enjoys working as part of a team and is keen to learn and develop their skills in a busy veterinary environment.
This is a full-time position, including participation in a 1:4 weekend rota, alongside the on-call and bank holiday rotas at our Medivet Southend 24-Hour Hospital.
This provides an opportunity to gain experience in a wider range of clinical settings and work alongside colleagues across our wider veterinary team.
Your career means more than a rota and a job title, that’s why we offer:
Health and wellbeing
- Health Cash Plan from day one
- 24/7 counselling and wellbeing support
- Life Assurance 3 x salary
Annual leave
- 5 weeks’ annual leave plus Bank Holidays, rising with length of service
- Extra ‘Day for You’, a paid day off just for you
Additional support
- Cycle to Work
- Season Ticket loans
- Discounts on Medivet products and services
About you
You’re skilled at providing exceptional client care and are passionate about caring for pets. You’re a team player who wants to make a real difference in a practice that values and supports you.
We welcome applications from candidates able to prioritise, remain calm under pressure and who are flexible and willing to learn.
This role is not suitable for young workers in line with Health and Safety Executive (government) direction due to the expected duties of the role. Therefore, you will be asked to confirm that you are over the age of 18 as part of the application process.
What you’ll be doing
Typically, in this role, you’ll:
- Deliver exceptional care to clients, supporting surgeries and procedures, complying with all regulatory, practice and operational standards
- Deliver patient monitoring and care to pets, including walking, toileting and feeding
- Work collaboratively within a supportive team
