Overview:
Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP), a standalone division of BlackRock, is a leading global infrastructure investor focused on acquiring, owning, and operating large-scale assets across the energy, transport, digital infrastructure, and water and waste management sectors. GIP combines deep sector expertise, rigorous financial analysis, and operational capabilities to support the performance of its portfolio companies.
Position Summary:
GIP is seeking a Vice President to join the Portfolio Finance team. This is a senior, highly analytical role focused on financial and operational performance across GIP's portfolio, with significant interaction with Portfolio Company management, GIP Investment Teams, Business Improvement professionals, and senior leadership. The Vice President will be expected to synthesize complex financial and operating information, challenge assumptions, identify risks and opportunities, and communicate clear conclusions and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
The role will also have meaningful responsibility for debt and capital markets analysis, including detailed debt modeling, liquidity, covenant monitoring, and working capital. The position is centered on portfolio finance, performance analytics, financial modeling, and business optimization.
Key Responsibilities:
Portfolio Performance & Financial Analysis
- Lead monthly and quarterly reviews of portfolio company financial and operating performance, including actual results, budgets, forecasts, liquidity positions, and key business metrics
- Analyze and explain the underlying drivers of EBITDA, cash flow, working capital, liquidity, leverage, and other critical performance indicators
- Evaluate business performance through both financial and operational lenses, linking results directly to underlying operational KPI drivers
- Identify emerging risks, opportunities, and trends across the portfolio and develop actionable recommendations for management and investment teams
Financial Modeling & Capital Structure Analysis
- Build, review, and enhance complex financial models, including three-statement models, operating forecasts, cash flow analyses, scenario assessments, and sensitivity analyses
- Lead analysis of capital structures, debt facilities, covenant compliance, refinancing opportunities, interest-rate exposure, liquidity planning, and other treasury-related matters
- Monitor portfolio company leverage, debt service capacity, and financing requirements, providing recommendations to investment and management teams
Reporting & Portfolio Analytics
- Drive the continued enhancement of portfolio reporting processes, analytics, systems, and data infrastructure
- Partner with portfolio companies, internal stakeholders, and technology teams to improve reporting consistency, scalability, data quality, and decision-support capabilities
- Develop dashboards, reporting frameworks, and performance monitoring tools that enable more timely and actionable insights
Strategic Business Partnering
- Serve as a trusted finance partner to Portfolio Company CFOs and finance teams, GIP Investment Teams, and Business Improvement professionals
- Challenge assumptions, assess business plans, and provide objective analysis to support strategic and operational decision-making
- Support value creation initiatives by quantifying opportunities and monitoring execution against financial objectives
Executive Communications
- Prepare concise, executive-level analyses and presentations for senior management, Investment Committees, Portfolio Committees, investors, and other stakeholders
- Distill complex financial and operational information into clear narratives that support decision-making
Special Projects
Support strategic initiatives across the portfolio, including integrations, carve-outs, operational improvement programs, financing transactions, audit-related projects, and other ad hoc priorities
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related discipline
- 7-10+ years of experience in private equity portfolio finance, corporate finance, financial planning and analysis, investment banking, leveraged finance, transaction advisory, consulting, or a similarly rigorous analytical environment
- Exceptional financial analysis and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate complex business situations and translate findings into actionable recommendations
- Advanced financial modeling expertise, including experience building and reviewing operating, cash flow, three-statement, scenario, and sensitivity models
- Strong understanding of debt and capital markets, including leverage, capital structures, covenant analysis, liquidity management, refinancing activities, and interest-rate considerations
- Outstanding communication and presentation skills, including the ability to influence senior stakeholders and convey complex concepts in a concise and compelling manner
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Strong knowledge of Chat GPT, Claude, and other LLMs preferred
- Experience working with financial reporting, visualization, and analytics platforms such as Chronograph, Workiva, SAP, Hyperion, Power BI, or similar tools
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while collaborating effectively across diverse stakeholder groups
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting portfolio companies within private equity, infrastructure, energy, transportation, industrials, digital infrastructure, or other capital-intensive industries
- Familiarity with infrastructure assets and infrastructure investing
- CPA, CFA, or other relevant professional designation

For New York, NY Only the salary range for this position is USD$150,000.00 - USD$194,000.00 . Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including healthcare, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.
