Contract: Full-Time, 37.5 Hours per Week. Mat leave cover - October 2026 to July 2027

Salary Range: 49,000 - $53,000 per annum

Reports To: Program Manager

Schedule: Schedule determined with direct supervisor based on agency needs. Position will require at minimum 1 evening per week and some weekends

Location: Hybrid – combination of remote and in-office

Position Summary

The Volunteer Program Associate plays a key role in attracting, supporting, and retaining volunteers who contribute to the organization's mission and impact. Through volunteer recruitment, training, relationship-building, and program administration, the position helps create meaningful volunteer experiences that strengthen services and community engagement.

Key Responsibilities

Volunteer Program Delivery

Support implementation of volunteer standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines with direction from agency leadership

Maintain and oversee adherence to volunteer standards, policies, procedures and guidelines

Implement screening, intake, onboarding, support, appreciation and belonging of all agency volunteers

Work collaboratively with the Program team to identify and address support gaps for effective program delivery

Implement new research in the development, delivery and maintenance of volunteer program as directed by agency leadership

Create an experience of belonging for all volunteers

  • Program Administration
  • Oversee and maintain volunteer filing systems
  • Report on monthly activities and statistics
  • Provide information, as necessary, for development of funding proposals and reports
  • Attend supervision and staff meetings

Qualifications

Required:

Diploma or Degree in social work, social services, or related experience

Skills, and/or interest in administrative and logistical support

Skilled at building lasting relationships that keep volunteers engaged, supported and connected to the work over time

Strong organizational and time management skills

Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities

Comfort working in a hybrid environment and using virtual technologies

Availability to work evenings and weekends

Preferred:

  • Experience supporting community-based, nonprofit, or social service programs
  • Experience coordinating multiple projects or partnerships

Experience recruiting volunteers and keeping them engaged over time through ongoing relationship building and support
