Job Description:

This is a technology role responsible for supporting the design, development, implementation, maintenance, and operational health of technology systems, applications, and services. The role contributes to delivery execution, production stability, risk management, and continuous improvement while building technical depth and business knowledge. Where assigned as a Technology Asset Owner (TAO) or supporting a TAO function, this role will also help ensure technology assets are accurately registered, maintained, governed, and managed through their lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support application and technology service delivery across the full lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, maintenance, and retirement.
  • Develop, configure, test, and maintain software components, scripts, integrations, reports, or platform changes under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Assist with production support, incident triage, root-cause analysis, problem resolution, and implementation of preventive actions.
  • Follow enterprise engineering standards, secure development practices, change management processes, and technology risk controls.
  • Collaborate with product owners, business partners, operations teams, security teams, infrastructure teams, vendors, and other technology stakeholders to deliver reliable outcomes.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, operational runbooks, support procedures, design notes, and evidence required for audit or compliance activities.
  • Monitor system health, performance, availability, vulnerabilities, software currency, and operational risks; escalate issues and support remediation planning as needed.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, delivery planning, estimation, retrospectives, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Contribute to automation, process improvement, service reliability, and reduction of manual operational effort.
  • Build knowledge of the business domain, technology environment, applications, dependencies, and enterprise governance expectations.

Technology Asset Owner (TAO) Responsibilities

  • Ensure assigned business applications, technical service offerings, or technology assets are accurately registered in TD Asset Registry (TDAR) or the applicable system of record.
  • Maintain accurate asset information, including lifecycle stage, ownership, contacts, dependencies, hosting details, interfaces, service relationships, and other required technical attributes.
  • Review, approve, or reject new asset registrations and TAO transfer requests where assigned as the accountable owner.
  • Keep asset lifecycle stages current, including draft, development, production, retired, and decommissioned states, within required timelines.
  • Complete or support data accuracy attestations, runs-on relationship reviews, currency reviews, and other recurring governance activities.
  • Identify, communicate, and remediate asset data quality issues, ownership gaps, control deficiencies, vulnerabilities, and compliance risks.
  • Work with TAO Delegates, portfolio representatives, business owners, application teams, and enterprise governance groups to ensure asset records remain complete, accurate, and auditable.
  • Support enterprise programs that rely on asset information, including configuration management, software currency, cybersecurity, resilience, data management, and access management processes.
  • Ensure required TAO and TAO Delegate training is completed and that delegates have appropriate access to perform assigned responsibilities.

Required Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in computer science, engineering, information technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Foundational knowledge of software development, application support, systems analysis, cloud or infrastructure concepts, databases, APIs, or DevOps practices.
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues, analyze information, document findings, and communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Understanding of secure engineering, technology risk, access management, change management, and operational control practices.
  • Strong ownership mindset, attention to detail, willingness to learn, and ability to work effectively in a team-oriented delivery environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exposure to Agile delivery, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, monitoring tools, ServiceNow, Jira, Confluence, or enterprise asset management processes.
  • Experience supporting applications in a regulated financial services or enterprise technology environment.
  • Familiarity with TDAR, CMDB, application lifecycle management, software currency, access management, or audit evidence preparation.

Success Measures

  • Technology changes and operational activities are delivered with quality, stability, and adherence to enterprise standards.
  • Incidents, defects, vulnerabilities, and control gaps are supported through timely analysis, escalation, and remediation.
  • Technical documentation and operational procedures are accurate, accessible, and kept current.
  • Assigned asset records are complete, accurate, timely, and aligned to lifecycle, ownership, and governance requirements.
  • The engineer demonstrates continuous learning, collaboration, accountability, and increasing independence in delivery and support responsibilities.
