Basic Functions and Scope of Job

The Warehouse Associate is responsible for safely operating forklifts and other material-handling equipment to move, load, unload, and stack materials within the warehouse or production facility. This role supports efficient operations while maintaining safety, accuracy, and cleanliness standards.

Key Responsibilities

• •Operate forklifts (sit-down, stand-up, reach truck, pallet jack, etc.) safely and efficiently
• •Prepare and stage loading pallets and equipment
• •Load, unload, move, stack, and organize materials and products
• •Transport goods to designated storage areas, production lines, or shipping docks
• •Inspect forklift equipment daily and report mechanical issues or safety concerns
• •Accurately follow inventory control procedures, including scanning and paperwork
• •Assist with shipping and receiving activities as needed
• •Maintain clean and organized work areas
• •Follow all safety guidelines, OSHA regulations, and company policies
• •Communicate with supervisors and team members regarding workflow and issues
• •Support general warehouse duties during downtime

Requirements

• •Valid forklift certification or ability to obtain certification
• •Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or industrial environment
• •Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and best practices
• •Ability to read work orders, labels, and basic documentation
• •Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• •Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Physical Requirements

• •Ability to lift, push, and pull materials (often up to 50 lbs)
• •Comfortable standing, bending, reaching, and climbing in a fast-paced environment
• •Ability to work in varying temperatures (depending on facility)

Preferred Qualifications

• •High school diploma or equivalent
• •Experience with inventory systems or warehouse management software (WMS)
• •Experience in manufacturing, distribution, or logistics environments
• •Knowledge of pallet racking systems and load limits
