Cantigny is a 500-acre estate in Wheaton, Illinois, which encompasses formal gardens, a museum dedicated to the 1st Infantry Division of the U.S. Army, and a 27-hole public golf course. Cantigny welcomes over 400,000 visitors annually to enjoy its educational and recreational amenities and public and private events.
For this winter season, Cantigny is seeking enthusiastic and dependable Winter Program Staff members to join our team and support programming throughout winter. Cantigny will be hosting nightly public events across the estate for visitors. These events will be both indoors and outdoors.
This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about hospitality, guest experiences, the outdoors, and enjoy working in a beautiful natural setting. Winter Program Staff will play a vital role in ensuring Cantigny remains accessible and safe for visitors during the winter months. This position is part time and will run from November 4th to January 3rd.
Position Summary:
The Parking Booth Attendant serves as the first point of contact for guests entering the Park during evening hours. This role is essential in creating a welcoming and organized experience for all visitors. The attendant will greet guests, provide directions, and manage parking transactions using the point-of-sale system.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Warmly welcome guests as they arrive.
- Direct guests with pre-purchased Light Show tickets to the Visitor Center.
- Provide clear instructions to guests attending the Ice Rink or purchasing tickets on-site.
- Operate the point-of-sale system to sell parking passes.
- Accurately input attendance numbers for reporting purposes.
- Maintain a friendly, polite, and patient demeanor at all times.
- Answer basic questions and assist guests with general inquiries.
Qualifications
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and remain calm under pressure.
- Basic proficiency with point-of-sale systems (training provided).
- Reliable and punctual with a strong sense of responsibility.
Work Environment:
- Outdoor booth setting with exposure to varying weather conditions.
- Standing or sitting for extended periods.
- Interaction with a diverse range of guests
