Job Description Summary

At Wycliffe Bible Translators, your work is more than just a job. As a Workforce Development Specialist, you will coordinate the design, refinement, delivery, and continuous improvement of learner-centered experiences that strengthen staff formation and development, alignment, and effectiveness in the global Bible translation movement, empowering them to thrive and advance Wycliffe’s mission.

In collaboration with the Director of Workforce Development & Partnerships, your contributions will play a pivotal role in designing and developing learning experiences that strengthen staff organizational impact and enhance learner engagement through content stewardship, facilitation support, learner engagement practices and continuous improvement efforts across the Engage onboarding experience, upskilling initiatives and other Workforce Development learning experiences.

You will help ensure learning experiences are not only well-designed and well-supported, but also relationally attentive, spiritually grounded and connected to the broader staff development journey.

Working collaboratively with Workforce Development, presenters and other stakeholders, this role helps bridge learning content, learner experience and practical application to foster transformation, belonging and mission alignment.

  • You’ll partner with Workforce Development (WD) leadership and other team members to:
  • - Encourage Learning Engagement staff to grow in abiding in Christ and in reflecting the fruit of the Spirit.
  • - Ensure Learning Engagement operations are aligned with WUSA strategic priorities to accomplish annual goals and address the realities of the changing Bible translation movement.
  • - Ensure that Learning Engagement staff are served by professional development that meets their needs, reflects WUSA’s core values and fosters growth in core competencies.
  • - Actively participate in WD team engagements to foster a healthy team culture, improve performance, and drive outcomes.

Job Description

Overview of Team

The Workforce Partnerships and Development team (WP&D) strengthens Wycliffe’s mission by aligning, equipping and mobilizing a mission-ready workforce. Rooted in prayer, we steward people, roles and partnerships so staff are prepared and supported to advance Bible translation with resilience and purpose. We identify workforce needs and deliver effective, contextualized development aligned with Wycliffe’s mission, vision and core values. Through intentional adult-focused learning and collaborative care, we ensure staff have the competencies and support needed to flourish in diverse ministry contexts and contribute with excellence so people everywhere can access and understand God’s Word.

Responsibilities

You’ll make an impact as you:

  • Faithfully and regularly pray for the ongoing work of Bible translation and for people from around the world to experience transformation.
  • Act as an organizational representative presenting the global ministry of Wycliffe and encouraging interested individuals, organizations and churches to participate in the work of Bible translation.
  • Work alongside the Director of Workforce Development & Partnerships and other team members to:
  • Collaborate with internal subject matter experts, partners and instructional designers to support learner-centered resources and experiences that reflect adult-learning best practices and are spiritually attentive, accessible and contextually relevant.
  • Support the preparation, coordination and delivery of Engage, Upskilling and Reskilling learning experiences across virtual and in-person environments.
  • Support continuity between the Engage onboarding experience, upskilling initiatives and the broader staff journey experience.
  • Develop, refine, curate and maintain learner-facing resources and activities that reinforce learning objectives, reflection and practical application.
  • Facilitate selected Engage, Upskilling and Reskilling workshops, cohorts, orientation sessions and other learning experiences as assigned.
  • Observe learner engagement and experience quality, gather feedback and contribute to evaluation and continuous improvement of learning content, facilitation and delivery.
  • Contribute to the design, development, execution, and evaluation of Engage, Upskilling and Reskilling initiatives to strengthen staff formation, development and organizational alignment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Workforce Development & Partnerships or Senior Director of Workforce Development.
  • Other Requirements:
  • Occasional domestic travel for programs, meetings, and events.
  • Adjust work schedule as needed to accommodate meetings across time zones.
  • Ensure access to a strong, reliable internet and phone connection
