Accounting Assistant (m/f/d)

Your Role: As an Accounting Assistant, you will support the day-to-day accounting activities of our European headquarters in Düsseldorf and contribute to ensuring accurate, timely and reliable financial records. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys working independently, takes ownership of their responsibilities and is comfortable working in a dynamic environment. You will work closely with colleagues in Finance, HR and other departments as well as with external partners. In this role you will support the smooth and efficient operation of the accounting department, contributing to accurate and timely financial processes and ensuring that accounting activities are handled efficiently and reliably.

Key Responsibilities:

• •Manage day-to-day Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) activities
• •Process, post and reconcile invoices and accounting transactions
• •Monitor open items and support collection and payment processes
• •Perform bank and balance sheet reconciliations
• •Maintain general ledger accounts and accounting records
• •Support monthly and year-end closing activities
• •Prepare accruals, provisions and other accounting entries
• •Support VAT and other tax-related accounting activities
• •Assist with financial reporting, audits and external advisors
• •Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with internal accounting procedures
• •Identify and support improvements to accounting processes
• •Take ownership of assigned accounting tasks and support the Finance team with general accounting matters.

Your Profile:

• •Completed training or degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field
• •Approximately 3 years of relevant professional accounting experience
• •Solid practical knowledge of AP, AR and general ledger accounting
• •Good understanding of accounting principles and month-end closing
• •Good Excel and ERP/accounting system skills
• •Good English skills; German is an advantage
• •Structured, accurate and independent working style
• •Hands-on mentality, reliability and a strong sense of responsibility
