About Blockhouse
Blockhouse is an institutional trading infrastructure platform for high and mid frequency trading strategies across centralized and decentralized perpetual venues, across all asset classes. We're a small team in New York and London, and interns work directly with the founders on problems that touch the live business.
Role Overview
We're launching a new investment product and need help from the accounting side to design and run its payout structure, since partners will be paid under different economic arrangements. You'll help us work out how those payouts are calculated and recorded, then track each partner's capital and returns and produce accurate statements. You'll also handle core bookkeeping for the firm, which gives you a full view of how a trading business runs its books. This role is for an immediate start.
Responsibilities
Help design the payout structure for a new investment product, including how partner economics are calculated, accrued and recorded
Build and maintain the product's accounting, tracking capital, performance and payouts by partner
Reconcile partner statements every month and make sure each payout ties back to the underlying records
Reconcile exchange and prime broker balances against our internal records
Support day to day bookkeeping, including transaction categorization, expense reconciliation and month end close
Required Qualifications
Currently pursuing a degree in accounting or finance, with coursework in financial accounting
Strong spreadsheet skills and care for getting numbers exactly right
Clear written and spoken communication, especially when explaining how you reached a figure
Reliability and follow through, since output is reviewed daily
Preferred Qualifications
Bookkeeping, audit or fund accounting experience, even part time
Familiarity with profit split, fee or interest accrual calculations
Interest in trading or crypto markets
Location and Schedule
Hybrid in New York City, with one in office day per week and flexible hours around your classes. Immediate start.
