Description

Bring your accounting expertise to an established spa and salon business. milk + honey is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead a small team and manage day-to-day accounting.

What You’ll Do

  • Own month-end close, general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and consolidated GAAP financial reporting.
  • Oversee accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash reconciliations, and deferred revenue from gift cards and memberships.
  • Support payroll accounting, review commissions, and resolve discrepancies.
  • Prepare multi-state sales tax returns and coordinate with external tax professionals.
  • Manage inventory accounting and fixed asset records.
  • Strengthen internal controls, improve processes, and support audits or financial reviews.
  • Lead and develop your team while staying involved in daily operations.

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 1–2 years leading a team.
  • Experience with month-end close, GAAP, multi-entity accounting, and consolidated reporting.
  • Strong knowledge of AP, AR, payroll accounting, and internal controls.
  • Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with accounting software.
  • Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities.

Preferred

  • CPA designation or progress toward certification.
  • Experience with deferred revenue accounting.
  • Experience preparing multi-state sales tax returns.
  • Accounting experience in a multi-location business.
  • Familiarity with Zenoti or Domo.
