Activity Assistant

Job Summary

Reporting to the Activity Supervisor, the Activity Assistant is responsible for programs, events and outings for all members. Provides personal attention to member's social, physical, emotional, spiritual & intellectual needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• •Assist in the development, planning, and implementation of group activities, special events, and projects.
• •Assist in the training of volunteers in relation to the activity department and facility policies, etc.
• •Maintains participant/member confidentiality.
• •Assist in the personal care, transportation, serving meals to members, and monitoring members at lunchtime.
• •Attends department meetings as required/requested.
• •Coordinates assistance from other departments regarding the implementation of planned activities, and informing and assisting residents to and from activity programs.
• •Completes assigned documentation in accordance with state and federal regulations.
• •Maintain a professional working relationship with community health related agencies, resources and local vendors.
• •Serves on committees, as assigned.

Requirements

REQUIRED

• •High School diploma or equivalent.
• •Aptitude/training in fine or creative arts, recreation, crafts or music.
• •36 or 90-hour state approved activity course preferred.
• •Valid Ohio Driver's License preferred.
• •1 year experience as assistant in long term care, day care, dementia population or hospital setting preferred.
