Position Title: Adjunct Faculty – Command and Staff College Distance Education Program (CSCDEP) (CDET)

Pay Range/Seminar Rates: $6,500 - $7,500 for 35 weeks of instruction (one academic year)

Location : CDET Regional campuses (MCB Quantico VA; MCB Camp Lejeune NC; NAS-JRB Fort Worth TX; MCB Camp Pendleton CA; MCAS Miramar CA; MCB Hawaii; MCB Camp Butler Okinawa Japan)

Functional Description :

Adjunct faculty coordinate with a DDG Regional Chief Instructor to provide instructional services for the Command and Staff College Distance Education Program (CSCDEP). The candidate must possess the requisite skills, experience, and abilities to lead discussions, grade seminar contributions and papers, and mentor U.S. military, foreign military and DOD and interagency civilian personnel enrolled in the CSCDEP seminars. The program is executed over two academic years, with faculty teaching four associated courses (a total of 35 weeks of seminar) during each academic year. The first year includes courses 9001 (Foundations), 9002 (Competition & Conflict), 9003 (Joint Operations) and 8904 (Operational Planning). The second year covers courses 8906 (Expeditionary Operations), 8907 (Naval Expeditionary Operations), 8908 (Operation Planning II) and 9007 (Joint All Domain Operations). All courses are offered once a year in onsite, online (synchronous) and online (asynchronous) formats. Both first and second academic years include a total of 35 weeks of instruction.

Mandatory Faculty Qualifications :

Field grade officer or civilian who is an ILS, SAW, or TLS graduate.

Desired Faculty Qualifications :

First Academic Year (8901-8904)

o Master’s degree from an accredited college.

o Military or DOD background.

o Joint Qualified Officer or Joint duty background.

o Socratic teaching experience.

o Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) (e.g., Moodle).

Second Academic Year (8905-8908)

o Master’s degree from an accredited college.

o Military or DOD background.

o Planning experience (Marine Corps and Joint).

o Operational experience (Marine Corps and Joint).

o Socratic teaching experience

o Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) (e.g., Moodle).
